Seeingeye Posted May 22, 2011 Share #1  Posted May 22, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) The Brighton event rather eclipsed the meeting that would otherwise have happened in March, but there were suggestions that we take in the street photography exhibition at the Museum of London as part of an outing.  http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/forum-member-meetings/168014-museum-london-exhibition.html  Alternatively, there is a street photography festival at the beginning of July that has some exhibitions that we could take a look at.  London Street Photography Festival - July 2011  One of the shows is at St Pancras International, which could provide its own photo opportunities for us. If we do decide that we want to take pictures there, it might be worth alerting the station authorities in advance in case they think that they have a mass invasion of terrorists on their hands!  London Street Photography Festival - July 2011 (this is a link to the exhibition details)  Anyone up for a day out?  Regards  Mike
Advertisement Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 Hi Seeingeye, Take a look here London Meet. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
spylaw4 Posted May 22, 2011 Share #2 Â Posted May 22, 2011 This has some possibilities! Suggeted dates (Saturdays) 9th 16th 23rd 30th. Museum first in (late) morning then lunch then St P? Or vice versa? Bear in mind that the Underground will most likely not be running between Barbican and King's X/St P. on any of the Saturdays!
tuanvo1982 Posted May 22, 2011 Share #3 Â Posted May 22, 2011 I am interested in this event I will be there See everyone soon

A privately owned space open to the public that actively encourages photography?  I've just spotted this on the St Pancras website. The perfect opportunity for LCF members to demonstrate what they can do!  Photo Competition at St Pancras International  Regards  Mike

Or vice versa? Bear in mind that the Underground will most likely not be running between Barbican and King's X/St P. on any of the Saturdays!  This looks like a good plan. According to the TFL website there are no tube works planned on the relevant lines for the weekend of 9/10 July, so either of these days would be a suitable date. Alternatively, there is the option of the Northern Line to/from Moorgate on other days, or even shank's pony.  Planned works calendar | Transport for London  Regards  Mike
spylaw4 Posted May 22, 2011 Share #6 Â Posted May 22, 2011 Good for you Mike, I hadn't looked at Tfl before I posted. BTW read the competition conditions carefully before entering! Particularly the persons represented bit.
Seeingeye Posted May 22, 2011 Author Share #7  Posted May 22, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) BTW read the competition conditions carefully before entering! Particularly the persons represented bit.  Given the number of people likely to be on the station at any given time, that will make life tricky for anyone wishing to enter unless they stick rigidly to photographing the infrastructure.  Regards  Mike

Tim B Posted May 23, 2011 Share #9 Â Posted May 23, 2011 I like the idea of the proposed venue for a meeting and would like to add my vote. Â However I cannot manage Saturday 9th, nor any Sundays in July. Saturday 2nd or 16th would be good for me if anyone else agrees. Â Thanks for the initiative, Mike. MartinEB Posted May 24, 2011 Share #10 Â Posted May 24, 2011 I am interested and fairly free on dates so far. I have seen the Museum of London exhibition but was already thinking it was worth a second visit. (The slide/audio presentation there is an ad for MP users!) Getting an original take on St Pancras is a challenge but well worth trying. Â Martin
biglouis Posted May 24, 2011 Share #11 Â Posted May 24, 2011 This is so close to my patch that I'll have to make it or be embarassed for my laziness. All dates in July are good for me, so far. Â LouisB
lanetomlane Posted May 27, 2011 Share #12 Â Posted May 27, 2011 I, and probably Eileen would be very interested, but I couldn't do the 2nd. At the moment any other date in July would be fine. ________________________ Cheers, Tom
farnz Posted May 28, 2011 Share #13 Â Posted May 28, 2011 I'm interested. No problem with dates at the moment. Â Pete.
spylaw4 Posted May 29, 2011 Share #14 Â Posted May 29, 2011 At the moment the majority would seem to be free on the 16th, with the 9th as a fall back? So preferences for one or other of those dates please?
Alan Philpotts Posted May 30, 2011 Share #15 Â Posted May 30, 2011 9th is not possible for me, but 16th would be fine. Best regards Alan
farnz Posted May 30, 2011 Share #16 Â Posted May 30, 2011 9th is out for me too now but 16th is fine. Â Incidentally, the Shoreditch Festival will be on on the 16th if alternative potential photo opportunities are needed. Â Pete.

So preferences for one or other of those dates please?  Agree that 16 July seems to be good for everyone who has responded so far and is the date that we should be settling on. 23 July might be a better alternative as there as some who cannot make it on 9 July, but hopefully we will not need that option..  Regards  Mike
