Pecole Posted May 1, 2011 Share #1 Posted May 1, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I already published some colour photos of the Zeiss Hologon 15mm f/8 nº 5736148 (Leitz catalogue number 11003) in the Fontenelle Collection, but here are some more detailed black and white ones. The complete Hologon set comprises the lens and its back cap, the viewfinder with spirit level and the graduated neutral density filter to reduce the vignetting. The serial number is definitely a Zeiss one; note the engraving "For Leica-M". Upside down, the lens makes clear the need for a special "deep" back cap. The special filter, E60 size. The Hologon with its special filter mounted, and in its deep back cap.

Michael Geschlecht Posted May 2, 2011 Share #2 Posted May 2, 2011 Hello Pierre, Nice photos. Its interesting: The lens illustrated in Lager is 5736168 dated 1973. Only 20 higher than yours ending in 48. Doubly interesting because another of this lens is shown as # 2593021 in Rogliatti. 2593021 is a Leitz serial # from 1973. I wonder if they were mostly made in 1973 around these #s in a single batch & then sold over a number of years? Similar to what occured w/ the 800/6.3. The 4X graduated neutral density filter is # 13002. I remember seeing a photo of & some text about this lens in "Camera 35" in an article written by someone who covered Photokina 1972 as their representative. This person was positive about the lens & its potential usefulness. Best Regards, Michael
