fotografr Posted March 21, 2013 Share #2084 Â Posted March 21, 2013 I guess that was too easy, since Madison is both a state capitol and the only large isthmus city in the USA. You got it Robert--over to you.
RPS Posted March 21, 2013 Share #2085  Posted March 21, 2013 Brent -- not so easy, really -- it's just that my niece went to college in Madison and my sister and her husband retired recently 150 (or so) miles NE of Madison, so the area has become familiar to me of late..  Here we go with a new image: Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members!  Looking for the name of the well known scenic highway snaking its way across the valley and up the side of the hill. RPS Posted March 21, 2013 Share #2087 Â Posted March 21, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Stuart - thank you for that response. No, it's not the Seward Highway in Alaska, but (since I didn't know about that one and had to look it up) I'm glad to know about that drive for future reference. Â The place shown in my photo is well to the east and well to the south of the Seward Highway.

RPS Posted March 22, 2013 Share #2089 Â Posted March 22, 2013 Stuart, Â Yes, in the US, but not that far south -- up closer to Canada, but we're not in a border state.
Michael Geschlecht Posted March 22, 2013 Share #2090 Â Posted March 22, 2013 Hello Everybody, Â Perhaps: The Northern 1/2 of the Rocky Mountains within the lower 48 of the USofA. Â Best Regards, Â Michael
RPS Posted March 22, 2013 Share #2091 Â Posted March 22, 2013 Michael - yes, this is located in the northern half of the section of the Rockies within the US.
stuny Posted March 22, 2013 Share #2092 Â Posted March 22, 2013 Trail Ridge Road in the Rocky Mountains National Park?
RPS Posted March 22, 2013 Share #2093 Â Posted March 22, 2013 Stuart -- that was a VERY good try, since this road is - in many respects - quite similar to the one you mention. But no, that is not where we are. Â Now you've gone too far east and too far south.
RPS Posted March 24, 2013 Share #2094 Â Posted March 24, 2013 Okay -- it looks like a hint might be in order. Â The vista shown in the picture is located in Wyoming.
stuny Posted March 24, 2013 Share #2095 Â Posted March 24, 2013 Custer State Park?
RPS Posted March 24, 2013 Share #2096 Â Posted March 24, 2013 Stuart, I believe Custer State Park is located in South Dakota. Â You're getting closer, but the scenic highway in question is located in Wyoming -- a good ways to the west, and somewhat to the north, of the place you named. stuny Posted March 25, 2013 Share #2097 Â Posted March 25, 2013 Beartooth Highway?
RPS Posted March 25, 2013 Share #2098 Â Posted March 25, 2013 Stuart - you are oh, so close, but don't have it quite yet. Â This hint will give the game away completely I'm sure, but the highway I'm looking for connects with the Beartooth Highway in northern WY, but heads in a different direction.
