stefans4 Posted November 5, 2019 Share #5461 Posted November 5, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) It seems we are at Belle Chasse downstream of New Orleans, and looking upstream towards the "English Turn Bend"... hence the first clue... The Belle Chasse - Scarsdale ferry is seen on its way to Scarsdale in the right-hand part of the photo... As I said, should this be correct I don't have anything to show at the moment... Michael Geschlecht Posted November 5, 2019 Share #5464 Posted November 5, 2019 Hello AZach, Could we be somewhere along the shore of a lake in Southern Germany? Best Regards, Michael

dau Posted November 5, 2019 Share #5468 Posted November 5, 2019 I think the image might be consistent with Switzerland, perhaps eastern Switzerland. There's a notable absence of aerials and even dishes, a scarcity of solar roofs, development is done in lots of surprisingly similar sizes. There are two chapels beside the main church, one apparently part of a cloister or some such, and three farms. There also seems to be a largish school and a small factory. It's a bit hard to see, but there seem to be only few shops; perhaps a sleeping town for a nearby city or agglomeration?
AZach Posted November 5, 2019 Share #5469 Posted November 5, 2019 Hello, Switzerland is correct but not clearly eastern. There is a railway hub quite nearby.

Guest Posted November 17, 2019 Share #5471 Posted November 17, 2019 At what time during the day and in what month did you take the pictures? Were they both taken about the same time?

dau Posted November 17, 2019 Share #5473 Posted November 17, 2019 (edited) My wife says it might be Arth am See (Arth upon the lake). The railway hub would be Arth-Goldau. We can't recognize the triangulation point or the vantage point. I, too, have run out of pictures to show here. So, if this is indeed Arth am See, anyone is invited to post the next mystery picture. BTW, there's dust on your sensor. Edited November 17, 2019 by dau
AZach Posted November 17, 2019 Share #5474 Posted November 17, 2019 Hello, your wife is absolutely right (quite often happens to me also😉). The triangulation point is the top of RIgi-Kulm (1748m). So, "anyone" please post the next one.
