Xavier Posted July 15, 2017 Share #4843 Posted July 15, 2017 (edited) Ok, there it is... Question is the city name, with the name of the point from which the picture was taken as bonus point. It may be too easy as there are some very characteristic elements, or too hard due the haze; if it is too hard, I will give hints! Welcome, dear visitor! Xavier Posted July 17, 2017 Share #4845 Posted July 17, 2017 Michael, Interesting, did you think about a city in particular ? No, it is not China...
Michael Geschlecht Posted July 18, 2017 Share #4846 Posted July 18, 2017 Hello Xavier, No, no particular City. The landscape looks like parts of France. But it is too smoggy. Parts of China look like parts of France & so, my guess. How about somewhere in South America?Best Regards, Michael
Xavier Posted July 18, 2017 Share #4847 Posted July 18, 2017 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Neither France nor South America. But China was much closer to the location than France or South America. Edited July 18, 2017 by Xavier

Xavier Posted August 1, 2017 Share #4853 Posted August 1, 2017 (edited) Dear Michael, Many thanks for the heads up. I shamefully admit some (non photo related) issues brought my attention away from this thread. My apologies for this. So, as you correctly guessed, we are in South Korea, from a high dominating point. As promised, here is a hint as regards to the city; when turning my head 90° to the right, from the view point, I would see this nice city walls portion: Welcome, dear visitor! Xavier Posted August 4, 2017 Share #4854 Posted August 4, 2017 Ok, this was posted too long with no answer, so I declare Michael who got the closest the winner. The city was simply Seoul. Precise location (that part was just bonus point ) is Inwangsan, one of the mountains above Seoul. You can simply ride a metro, stop at a station inside the city, walk a bit in small streets, and then hike for maybe 30 minutes, and reach this view. The city walls are visible (one of the ways to the top simply follows them). Through the haze, the characteristic structure of Gyeongbokgung (one of the old palaces) with Gwangwhamun (the main gate) emerge. Sorry if that was too difficult, I guess it is hard to judge... Michael, your turn! Best Regards,
Michael Geschlecht Posted August 4, 2017 Share #4855 Posted August 4, 2017 (edited) Hello Xavier, Thank you. The reason that I only guess close but don't give the precise answer is that I don't have the ability to Post anything at this time. Would you do me a favor & Post another photo & perhaps some other people will play also. By the way, if I did not say so already: Welcome to the Forum. Michael Geschlecht Posted August 6, 2017 Share #4858 Posted August 6, 2017 (edited) Hello Xavier, Could we be somewhere not that far from, or in, the Pyrenees? Most likely on the Atlantic side. Best Regards, Michael Edited August 6, 2017 by Michael Geschlecht
Xavier Posted August 7, 2017 Share #4859 Posted August 7, 2017 Hi Michael, We are not in the Pyrenees. "Not that far from" is a relative notion, but yes, Pyrenees are much closer to the shooting location than Korea. Best Regards, Xavier.
