larsv Posted May 25, 2014 Share #3166 Â Posted May 25, 2014 (edited) Noordwijk it is! The beach club of Hotel Huis ter Duin. The hotel (the second photo with the large building structure) where the Dutch soccer team often stays in preparation for a game. In summer the majority of the people is German (just mildly exaggerating ). Â Your turn, Brian. Edited May 25, 2014 by larsv
farnz Posted May 25, 2014 Share #3167 Â Posted May 25, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm embarrassed to say that I've stayed in that hotel in Noordwijk-an-See but I didn't recognise it or the beach. Â Pete.

farnz Posted May 25, 2014 Share #3170 Â Posted May 25, 2014 Pete, it probably is on me and my poor attempts No, Lars, I don't spend much time on beaches anymore so I put it down to an unfamiliar aspect. And dunderheadedness on my part of course. Â Pete.

esquire53 Posted May 28, 2014 Share #3176 Â Posted May 28, 2014 how about Japan
farnz Posted May 28, 2014 Share #3177 Â Posted May 28, 2014 Well I'm stumped, Brian; it's not a place that I recognise and I don't think I've visited there so I thought I'd readily locate it by googling truss bridge and bowstring arch bridge, which can be seen next to each other in the foreground. But no. Â Pete.
Toshack10 Posted May 28, 2014 Share #3178 Â Posted May 28, 2014 I think it's in Europe - the buildings in the foreground look like apartment blocks There are not too many cities around with tall shiny office buildings as per the background At a guess, I think it's Frankfurt
spylaw4 Posted May 29, 2014 Share #3179 Â Posted May 29, 2014 (edited) My, my, I never thought this would prove difficult! Â So - not Japan, and not Europe, not Australia, but closer to there than the other guesses, and BTW it's not NZ as Pete will probably know. So what region/area does that leave that has not been mentioned? Edited May 29, 2014 by spylaw4
a.j.z Posted May 29, 2014 Share #3180 Â Posted May 29, 2014 Well, if it is closer to Australia than Japan and it apparently is not Antarctica then it should be Indonesia or at least zhis area. Jakarta? (I did not find a fitting picture but they have a cathedral like the one in your picture)
