aesop Posted April 20, 2011 Share #1 Posted April 20, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) ...currently seeking a replacement red filter (cat. #17440) for my Focomat V35. I still have the fully functional metal connector rod (see attached image below), but the red filter has snapped at the junction where it interfaces with the connector rod. Alternatively, I would like to hear from anyone who has *working experience* of using an alternative red filter on the V35. Please, folks, no advice required on anything else. Life is way too short. Then retry with rag soaked in faucet water. Dry in aring cupboard, dont touch the interface with figers they are greasy, apply super glue and dont move for 24-48 hours... Spares may be difficult or easy you can never tell. Noel

pico Posted April 30, 2011 Share #11 Posted April 30, 2011 Two approaches. See USA ebay #40538031983 You can probably make your own red filter from either glass or high-quality plastic. I made mine from glass and cut the hole for the bolt using a cheap diamond-impregnated cutter intended for a Dremel. Work slowly and all goes very well. too old to care Posted May 1, 2011 Share #12 Posted May 1, 2011 I hate to say this, please do not bash me for my enlarger, it still works. But my Vivitar E34 enlarger has a similar red filter that may work. Those things are cheap, almost throw away. Maybe look for something from that line? earleygallery Posted May 3, 2011 Share #13 Posted May 3, 2011 Only just seen this but - it looks like there's a screw head at the bottom of the rod to hold the filter on? Buy a Cokin red filter off ebay, drill hole to fit and voila! OK it will be square instead of round but you could always trim it.

too old to care Posted May 3, 2011 Share #15 Posted May 3, 2011 See Ebay. Search for "Red Safety Filter for LPL 66-SII and 3301D Enlargers." $18.98. Or, just search for red enlarger filters. There is about a page of them listed for various enlargers. Wayne

pstake Posted August 4, 2012 Share #17 Posted August 4, 2012 Reviving an old thread here. Aesop, I also use a V35 but have no red filter nor the mounting screw. Would you mind telling me the length of the mounting screw so I can better locate a replacement? I'm looking at one for an Omega D over on the Bay but the mounting screw looks short. Thanks, Phil ps. I like your fables.
