Thanks for commenting Michael, Stuart, & Paul!

Which 135 mm lens do you use together with the Visoflex ?

Karl, this is the removable lens-head from the 1960's era Tele-Elmar attached to the bellows; I love this goofy setup!

Cheers,

Henry

Thank you for the info.

Together with my M9 and the Visoflex the Elmar 65 and Telyt 280 mm function very well, the Telyt 200 mm is fine but not brilliant. Now I am looking for a lens in the range of 90 to 135 mm which fits to the screw mount of my bellow as the 65 mm does. May be this type of 135 mm lens is an option.

Karl-Albert,

I think the 135 TE is just what you are looking for! I'm going to go back and find the serial # range for you. They are from the early 60s and can be had for around $400 on eBay. I can tell you that this is one of my favorite lenses, both on the bellows and as a range-finder lens. It is one of the lenses that I never leave at home. And the lens head fits that same bellows adapter for the 65. I'll PM the serial range when I find it.

Hello Karl-Albert & Henry,

Tele-Elmars were made in 3 varieties. The first had a focussing wheel w/ smooth peaks & knurled dimples. The second had a focussing mount which was continually knurled w/ no dimples. both had the DOF lines going up frpm the focus wheel on the lens barrel which is the reverse of the 3d version which has the standard configuration for DOF for most longer Leitz/Leica lenses w/ the lines on the camera side of the wheel.

Both the first & second version were #11851. Both had removable lens heads which unscrew just behind the aperture selector ring exposing 2 threads 39 X 1 & 33 X 0.75. The lens head could be purchased alone as 11852. Early version 1 had a small removable baffle which has to be removed before mounting on 16558, 16464 or 16471.

Vesion 2 ended w/ serial # 3470570. That # or lower Tele-Elmar has a removable lens head.

The third version had the same optics. The mount

Hello Karl-Albert & Henry,

Tele-Elmars were made in 3 mechanical varieties. The 1st had a focussing wheel w/ smooth peaks & knurled dimples. Some red m/ft #'s & some yellow. The all yellow m/ft #'s 2d had a smooth focussing wheel which was entirely knurled w/ no dimples. Both the 1st & the 2d had their DOF lines going up from the focussing wheel onto the lens barrel above. The 3d version has the standard DOF layout of most Leitz/Leica lenses. The DOF markings are on the camera side of the focus wheel & cosmetically it looks more like the 3.4 Apo which replaced it.

The 1st & 2d mechanical version Tele-Elmar had the same optical fomula & were both #11851. Both had removable lens heads which unscrew just behind the aperture selector ring exposing 2 threads 39 X 1 & 33 X 0.75. The lens heads could be purchased alone as #11852. Early versions of # 1 had a small removable baffle which has to be removed before mounting on a 16558, 16464 or 16471.

The last version 2 ended w/ serial # 3470570. That # or lower Tele-Elmar has a removable lens head.

The third version Tele-Elmar which did not have a removable head but did have the same optics is #11861.

Best Regards,

Michael

Hello Again Everybody,

Sorry for 3 Postings.

Whether or not I might know anything about Tele-Elmars I know very little about how to work a computer.

I have no idea how the 1st unfinished Post got here. I hadn't sent it & was still working on it as you see it here.

I think the 2d is correct. Once again I don't know how it got here. I hadn't sent it yet. I was still reviewing it.

The 3d is the 1st I sent. Please read that one.

MODERATORS: If you would like to remove the first 2 Posts of this group & leave the 3d (This is the 4th) it might help clarify things.

Sorry for the confusion & inconvenience. This is a relatively new technology for me & I have no person here to help me learn.

Best Regards,

Michael
