Hi Pete

My Mamiya TLR (330f) was not that expensive when did you get it?

The Lomo kids react badly when I tell them my M2 and CV 35mm was less than £600...

Why dont Leica advertise that? cause they are selling M9 at 5k...

Not long ago, 3 months perhaps. I've not seen one cheaper since except without the lens. I wouldn't feel done if I saw one for half the price. The point is they cost peanuts. I saw a Nikon F4 sell for 49 pounds today!!!!

I live in a small town. I saw a Yashica Electro 35 in the Oxfam shop. I went down to buy it today. Some B#gger bought it last week! I'm not the only one buying film cameras in this town

Pete

There are quite a few Yashicas for sale on Australian eBay sight, I'm thinking about picking one up to get the rangefinder/film feel, before purchasing a Leica. Do you know much about these cameras and what would be a reasonable price.

You should check them out.

The price of the Lomo Lubitel TLR is crazy but people must be buying them! You can buy a mint Rolleicord V for less!

But I'm pleased they are selling them and that people are buying them. I remember when I worked in a camera shop when I was 16 and the Lubitel was about £20 new, but no one bought them!

I wonder how many new Lomographers step up to 'proper' film cameras once the novelty of quirky pictures has worn off? Quite a few I bet.

Just seen the original post for this. I'm lucky in that I work about a 10 minute walk from Spitalfields Market. So, I can drop off a few rolls of film and get a bite to eat from one of the food stalls in the market.

I haven't been there for a while, but they also used to do a CD and vinyl fair every Wednesday. I think I can see a plan coming together....:)

The only problem is the place appears to be run by idiotic hipsters. Though I base this assumption on the youtube opening night video; a plethora of ironic haircuts/NHS style spectacles and the general suspicion that the nearby lampposts where surrounded by rusty single speed Peugeot conversion projects

Good point LondonR

I'll take a couple of rolls of stuff that aren't so important to me and see (a) what sort of a job they make or processing them and (B) how much they charge to fund their "ironic" hair-do's!! :D

Hi James

The ones who ask me about how much my M2 costed, normally start thinking about saving some more money immediately. Especially if I'm cruel and let them shoot a frame, and wind on, it is the thic of the 1/125 of a second that suprises...

To be fair most wonder why I'm not using a Leica Lens as well.

Most people are not aware how much a Barnack or M2 costs, even DSLR owners have the same questions.

Those who are aware wont even touch one...
