Washington Posted April 1, 2011 Share #1 Posted April 1, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I posted a question concerning if anyone knew where I could find a certain obscure adapter for the Leitz ‘’Focorapid’’ but it’s gone. Is this an inappropriate question? I do the best I can to follow the rules. Thanks, and no big deal, I’m just wondering.

Michael Geschlecht Posted April 1, 2011 Share #2 Posted April 1, 2011 Hello Washington, I also had a Post disappear a few days ago & sent a note inquiring to Andreas. He is very good @ looking after things like this. To date nothing back though. You might consider writing him directly. Best Regards, Michael
pop Posted April 1, 2011 Share #3 Posted April 1, 2011 There's the possibility that someone thought you were soliciting. That would be against the forum's rules.
stuny Posted April 1, 2011 Share #4 Posted April 1, 2011 Washington - I did see the post, and the indications on it left by another moderator indicated it was deleted due to it's looking like a "want to buy" solicitation. All want ads should go in the Buy & Sell section of the Forum. The modest fee helps Andreas keep the site running. Where we (moderators) fell down was in not contacting you by PM to advise you of this.

Washington Posted April 1, 2011 Author Share #10 Posted April 1, 2011 I see what y’all mean by it being a possible solicitation ….. tho’ I was meaning to just ask if anyone knew where this could be found. It’s pretty obscure and they usually were sold as a three adapter kit with the Focorapid …. so loose ones are scarce. No problem, I’ll run into the right one eventually. Thanks! Telyt2003 Posted May 22, 2011 Share #11 Posted May 22, 2011 I see what y’all mean by it being a possible solicitation ….. tho’ I was meaning tojust ask if anyone knew where this could be found. It’s pretty obscure and they usually were sold as a three adapter kit with the Focorapid …. so loose ones are scarce. No problem, I’ll run into the right one eventually. Thanks! Hello, Just, if it still relevant for you: I bought all of these adpaters for the Focorapid separately in Vienna (leicashop/Westlicht). They have them from time to time. JFYI: The Focorapid was mostly sold with only one adapter, the 14112 for the heads of the older Telyts 280/4.8 (type 1 and 2, the newer type 3 needs a minor modification to fit to the Focorapid). However, the adapter 14112 is not needed! It can be skipped: The heads of the Telyts 280mm type 1 and 2 also screw directly into the Focorapid. The missing length (of the adapter) can be replaced by 1-2 simple distance rings OUFRO/16469 behind the Focorapid. The formula is: Visoflex2/3 - 16469 - (16469) - Focorapid - head of Telyt 280mm (type 1/2). instead of this: Visoflex2/3 - Focorapid - 14112 - head of Telyt 280mm (type 1/2). The avoidance of 14112 makes the Focorapid (with 280mm lens) MUCH handier and easier to focus (because you avoid length and weight in front of the Focorapid's focusing mechanism). Sometimes the Focorapid kit also contained the adapter 14114 for the heads of the older 135mm lenses (Hektor, Elmar v.2), but this was apparently to be ordered separately. I like the head of the Elmar (v.2) from the 1960s at full aperture or 5,6. Since the head of the contemporary Telyt 200/4 can be screwed directly into the Focorapid, the adapter 14113 for the older Telyt 200/4.5 could be ordered (separately) by those who wanted to use this antique lens (With the Focorapid, the 200/4,5 is actually my favourite!, because this combination is very nicely balanced. Please see the Visoflex interest group for a few example images). Best, Telyt2003
