Pico,

If it is hard to get all the way to infinity you have a rear element baffle that protrudes to far. Mine serial 29918xx had that and went to Solms for a fix and a CLA. After that I've seen no issues focusing it at all on the M3/6/8. I've not noticed any focus shift on the M8 either.

Mine is 22899xx and the very minor resistance is at closest focusing, so I think I am good but a CLA is probably in order, regardless.

IOW, the lens' focus is optimized for shooting wide open...

It is clearly the case with the CV 35/1.4 SC which is sharper than the Summilux at f/1.4 and f/2 (with no glow though) but focus shift is obvious at f/2.8 and on. Hard to be 100% sure with the Summilux given its softness at f/1.4 but i did not focus bracket in the pic above and this represents what i get generally with this lens. Now i get softer results at full aperture from time to time and the lens is always plenty sharp at f/2.8 and on so if there is some focus shift somewhere i would say that the lens is optimized for around f/2.8 but not f/1.4 or f/2 apparently. Sounds true at least for my copy which is a late 11870 made in 1989 in Germany.
