stuny Posted March 22, 2011 Share #1 Posted March 22, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Three weeks ago Calvin Klein had all the windows in Macy's. This week, he has all the windows at Lord & Taylor. 6:25 this morning.
Advertisement Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Hi stuny, Take a look here Underwear? Check. Heads? Oops! (2 versions). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pauledell Posted March 22, 2011 Share #2 Posted March 22, 2011 Stuart, I like both versions very well, but I guess if I had to choose, the color version wins by a whisker. Paul
stuny Posted March 22, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted March 22, 2011 Paul - Thank you. I too slightly prefer that version.
otto.f Posted March 22, 2011 Share #4 Posted March 22, 2011 Yes the color because it is actually nearly monochrome, the light is better in that version
geaibleu Posted March 22, 2011 Share #5 Posted March 22, 2011 Yes like everybody else, I find the "chocolate" version more attractive as the colour melts better hence adding some discrete and delicate intimacy to the scene.
stuny Posted March 23, 2011 Author Share #6 Posted March 23, 2011 Otto & Geaibleu - Thank you. I changed the light some in #2, increasing the contrast after desaturating. Before doing that the color was even more out in front of the B & W. The color balance is a bit warmer than real life, but I thought it improved the overall impact. otto.f Posted March 23, 2011 Share #7 Posted March 23, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Yes now you pose me for a dilemma. It's not anymore the contrast that gives a preference, they are equally attractive now, so you can decide solely on the purpose/where you want to hang it/use it for/context, etc. I would guess that Calvin himself would chose the B&W because of the brand's image as a whole
clinchico Posted March 23, 2011 Share #8 Posted March 23, 2011 Stuart, I like both versions very well, but I guess if I had to choose, the color version wins by a whisker. Paul I second that,I am too leaning towards the coloured version. Herb

likalar Posted March 25, 2011 Share #15 Posted March 25, 2011 I'll take the b-w, of course. They have no heads, so the room has no ceiling. Calvin paid dearly for the window space: I imagine they supplied the figures. Were the Macy's figures the same? Very nice framing. Larry
stuny Posted March 26, 2011 Author Share #16 Posted March 26, 2011 Larry - Thank you. though the Macy's figurse might have been the same the lighting did nothing for me, perhaps because at the back of each window was a huge screen TV showing fast-cut, short attention span moving images of models in the outfits.
