stevem7 Posted July 12, 2006 Share #1 Posted July 12, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Few pics from my 1st roll of Tri-X through my new M7. The prints look so much better than my C41 prints, and the Tri-X scans well on my Nikon coolscan V. Here are a few of my son and nephew. Rona!d Posted July 12, 2006 Share #3 Posted July 12, 2006 Yes, the first is the best
Guest user10847 Posted July 12, 2006 Share #4 Posted July 12, 2006 Well, don't ask me why, but for me works the third one.
Overgaard Posted July 12, 2006 Share #5 Posted July 12, 2006 1st and 3rd. The 3rd would be perfect if you fixed the face in the hole to be darker and more contrasty. Great idea by the way, all of them.
stuny Posted July 12, 2006 Share #6 Posted July 12, 2006 Steve - All three show terrific detail and tonal range, and I like the imaginative settings as well. #3 is my favorite for its simplicity and texture. Nice scanning, too.
wbesz Posted July 12, 2006 Share #7 Posted July 12, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) To my eyes, the third one stands out as very original, ..excellent and well done! BUT, did you rip that cloth?
ptomsu Posted July 13, 2006 Share #8 Posted July 13, 2006 1st and 3rd work for me
stevem7 Posted July 13, 2006 Author Share #9 Posted July 13, 2006 Thanks for the comments. STill learning the ropes of scanning Tri-X and some of my later scans today turned out better. Looking at my prints, the Tri-X looks sooooooo much nicer than the C41 kodak film I used last week. Again, thanks for all the comments and tips! Here is one more from that day. PS - No I did not rip the material in that 3rd shot, it was already ripped.
lambroving Posted July 13, 2006 Share #10 Posted July 13, 2006 Steve, The first shot is excellent. You have a good eye. This Tri-X is obviously much better than the Tri-X of old, and whatever you are doing with the development, don't change a thing. Well-done!
Guest imported_stefan_r Posted July 13, 2006 Share #11 Posted July 13, 2006 Dirk, I don´t like the eyes in the third one it looks like bad done postprocess, flat contrast in his eyes.
graham_mitchell Posted July 13, 2006 Share #12 Posted July 13, 2006 I also like the first the best. In the second shot, the lighting on the face is not too good and the boy is a little too small in the frame.
