An M9 DNG color problem? & Irresolvable?

Much criticized Ken Rockwell has constantly written that he loves most everything about the M9 except its DNG color. Even though he prefers to shoot in JPG, he says that he would be quite willing to shoot with the M9's DNG if he could thereby find a PP remedy for the its allegedly poor rendering of colors.

On 1/7/11, he wrote that after seeing "some great images from Leica's M9 as processed through Aperture 3," he downloaded it's latest version for trial. But that version, he claims, can read only M9 DNGs shot prior to his installed M9 firmware 1.138:

"This compatibility baloney always haunts raw shooters, which is just one of innumerable reasons I prefer JPG. It's just that I'd love to figure out how to get a good picture out of the M9.As we say in real estate when trying to sell an awful house, the M9 'has great potential.' "

Anyone's observations, comments, lines of thought?

Ken Rockwell has't got the foggiest notion of postprocessing...Anybody proclaiming himself a photographic internet guru and then demonstrating his incompetence by blaming his tools for an inability to set up a decent raw workflow deserves everything he gets imo....

Rockwell's ratio of garbage to useful info is about 100:1

If i actually admired his photographic abilities, I'd be willing to put up with the garbage but the majority of his photos are of the "snapshot" variety so it's no wonder he wants the camera to do all the work for him.

Even so, the "Leica" Reviews section of his web site is consistently growing; and, this is more than I can say for any other online site. IMO, it's especially refreshing, coming from a renown professional photographer/research engineer/educator, that is not a "fanboy" of any particular camera brand or company. ;)

Rockwell's photography may leave something to be desired, but he's practically the only reviewer out there who tells people the truth about cameras: that a good picture is made by a good photographer, not by any particular camera.

Rats! I knew that I was missing something. :o I suppose I'd better go out and buy a good photographer to go with my camera. ;)

(And, NO, I'm NOT going to ask where I can get one with a red dot!)

isnt rockwell the guy that praised the m9 early but in a christmas blog noted that the iphone did better at capturing white balance than the m9. given that and his praises for all things nikon, i wonder whether his critical drift follows the direction of gifts.
