andybarton Posted January 21, 2011 Share #21 Posted January 21, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) That must be knackered. The going rate is at least a grand more than that. If I had an y R mount R lenses left, I'd be tempted myself...
Advertisement Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Hi andybarton, Take a look here Thinking of buying an R9 with DMR. Foolish?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
topoxforddoc Posted January 21, 2011 Share #22 Posted January 21, 2011 Andy, you do get bargains from time to time. I bought my back up DMR from a Leica dealer with R8 3 years ago and paid £1700. The important thing is the DMR. As long as that is working ok, then the body matters less. Best wishes,

jaapv Posted January 25, 2011 Share #25 Posted January 25, 2011 Apparently Solms are no longer servicing the DMR due to lack of available parts. This ties in with an earlier statement made at (IIRC) Hessenpark 2009.As I understand it there have been service problems in the past as Leica did not do the work themselves. As of 2009, the whole operation is said to have reverted to Solms, making more extensive servicing possible.
vickko Posted January 25, 2011 Author Share #26 Posted January 25, 2011 My R9/DMR is at Kindermann for repair. They say that they can CLA the R9. If the issues are with the DMR (and I hope they aren't), it may need to go to New Jersey Leica. Vick
roguewave Posted January 25, 2011 Share #27 Posted January 25, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) My DMR is still the best solution for me. Neither Canon nor Nikon give me the look I want. As far as the R8/R9, I still own 3 of them. They are simply the best film SLR ever made. It's always the people that don't own or don't know anything about the DMR that try to defame it. There simply is not a better digital solution in the 35 mm format. The files I get from the DMR are just amazing.
