These are the virtually empty buildings that at one time had a thriving work force building sub-fractional horsepower AC induction electric motors used for appliances, business machines and other applications. The building in the foreground is Bldg 4 and the one towards the back and to the right is Bldg.6. In the foreground is an empty lot where Bldg. 17 once stood. Bldg 17 originally was where hermetic motors for central air conditioner compressors were manufactured. Picture with my M6 and 35mm Summicron V4 using Tri-X.

Paul, I'm enjoying your Ft Wayne series (in a sad way). I watched this happen to GE plants in Lynn (the Gear Plant side), Schenectady (half the city !) and of course Fitchburg.

What is it that we do for livings anymore? The whole country can't be retired :(

Dave,

Thanks for your comments. You have asked a good (and important) question.
