250swb Posted November 4, 2010 Share #21 Posted November 4, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Like the GF1 that didn’t get the superior sensor of the GH1 introduced four months before, the GF2 didn’t get the superior sensor of the GH2. And I would be surprised if the GF3 (introduced in early 2012 perhaps) should inherit the sensor of a hypothetical GH3. There isn’t that much room at the top and that is occupied by whichever GH model is current. Well no, I suggested a GF3 would have the same sensor as the GH2, not a 'hypothetical' GH3. Advertisement Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Hi 250swb, Take a look here Panasonic GF2 something new? . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
250swb Posted November 4, 2010 Share #22 Posted November 4, 2010 Passive-aggressive condescention... so Little England. Shall we get back on-topic before last orders? Most people who post here are not the target market for this interchangeable-lens tamagotchi - fortunately. Thats OK bill, have your warm milk and go to bed. I just wonder why you get uppity about correction but don't worry about the accuracy of what you post in the first place? Is it you or the information you give to the forum you are most bothered about? regards Steve
mjh Posted November 4, 2010 Share #23 Posted November 4, 2010 Well no, I suggested a GF3 would have the same sensor as the GH2, not a 'hypothetical' GH3. Yeah, only that was an even less likely scenario. The GF2 isn’t even available yet and if Panasonic sticks to their usual product cycles they would introduce a GF3 sometime in 2012. The GH2 and its sensor will be old hat by then. In any case it isn’t likely that the GF3 will get a sensor like the one in the GH2 or GH1. These multiple aspect sensors are exclusive to the top of the line model and serve to differentiate the GH line of products from their lowly G and GF brethren. Of course Panasonic might decide to change their strategy but I see no reason why they should.

stunsworth Posted November 5, 2010 Share #26 Posted November 5, 2010 Sometimes I think it's good to remember that the camera industry doesn't exist in order to service us as individuals. They have bigger fish to fry than photographic enthusiasts. I'd expect to see more and more touch screens from more and more manufacturers. If for no other reason that they cut down the sumber of mechanical componants - switches, dials etc. - in a camera, and that means lower cost and higher reliability; and also of course a larger rear screen. Whether I think it's a good or a bad idea is irrelevant to them, I'll let you know if Panasonic ever call and ask me for some design input.

John Thawley Posted November 10, 2010 Share #30 Posted November 10, 2010 And it has a dedicated iso button, which is more than can said of my Digilux 2. Our beloved Digilux 2 doesn't need a dedicated ISO button. It has a dedicated ISO. Anything other than 100 is pretty much a throwaway. LOL

stuny Posted November 10, 2010 Share #32 Posted November 10, 2010 200 hundred usually works well for me, and ISO is on one of the four function buttons, so that's not so bad.
