Rolo Posted January 11, 2007 Share #1 Posted January 11, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) A tranquil evening and the light was disappearing fast. However, film can see in the dark and here’s one result. Your comments are appreciated. Rolo
Advertisement Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 Hi Rolo, Take a look here Beside the Sea V - Guiding Light. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jmr Posted January 11, 2007 Share #2 Posted January 11, 2007 Rolo, beautiful composition. The quay on the right-hand side gives the shot a lovely balance, both in form and tonality.

gverdon Posted January 11, 2007 Share #4 Posted January 11, 2007 Rolo, a very interesting composition and a potential great light (maybe? hard to say), but, IMO, the recovery of underexposed parts turn into redish flat zones, which kill this image. My 2 cents. What do you think? Thanks for sharing, Gérald
Rolo Posted January 11, 2007 Author Share #5 Posted January 11, 2007 Rolo, a very interesting composition and a potential great light (maybe? hard to say), but, IMO, the recovery of underexposed parts turn into redish flat zones, which kill this image. My 2 cents. What do you think? Thanks for sharing, Gérald Gerald, Thanks for your comments. erhmm ... which reddish flat zones ? The reflection of the sky on the water, or the red paint on the wall ? Or am I missing something ? The image is a night scene and the sun has gone down and the exosure is about 2 seconds. Presumeably you would capture the feel of the location and wouldn't expect to see full detail. But don't let me second guess any further. Please advise. gverdon Posted January 11, 2007 Share #6 Posted January 11, 2007 Rolo, Sorry, it seems we don't see the same image... I suppose my monitor is well calibrated and what I see is all the dark parts (walls and ground) with a grey-magenta-red cast. Maybe a problem on my monitor. I'll try to figure out. Cheers, Gérald
