Jaap, you may be interested in this article just posted at LL regarding M8 IR photography. It gives good advice regarding focus adjustments needed, and appropriate filters to use. menos I M6 Posted September 11, 2010 Share #22 Posted September 11, 2010 It is a less scientific, but excellent article with advices from a user perspective. If only these filters would be easier to find in China ;-)
luigi bertolotti Posted September 11, 2010 Share #23 Posted September 11, 2010 Good find Jaap !!! Last year a dealer in my town had such an item : M6 classic has tempted me sometimes as a M4 substitute (meter being the first factor) : I skipped that for 3 reasons : - Cost was about 40% more of yours - I feared that being brand new and boxed I'd end to keep it like that... ... too fine to deserve, sooner or later, some scratch... - Black... (but, if chrome, the above reason should have been even more compelling.. )

First film is being dropped off today If that is the problem I could have bought both, and kept one pristine...
Eric Posted September 24, 2010 Share #26 Posted September 24, 2010 Hello Jaap, Thanx you for your great suggestion! After reading your post last weekend I thought... the other one must have been gone already. However, this morning I visited the store and I also left the building with a wonderful never been used silver Leica M6 , a nice addition to the black version I already own and love. And if I understood it right, there is still more old stock. How wonderfull life can be. Best regards, Eric

Johnny_Johnson Posted September 24, 2010 Share #28 Posted September 24, 2010 After reading your post last weekend I thought... the other one must have been gone already. It would have been but - I put it in my shopping cart at their Website and completed the checkout including entering my credit card information. But, when I sent an Email to customer service asking about refunding the VAT they told me that the credit card transaction had failed to go through. They didn't offer to assist with getting the credit card information processed and there was something about the way the response was worded that I found to be off-putting. After thinking about things for awhile I decided that I really needed to be selling Leica gear instead of collecting more so I didn't pursue the matter any further. I did notice that the item status on their web page went from "in stock" to "on order" and remained that way the last time I looked several days later. Even American Express is not Amurricen enough...

Collecting camera gear can be very tempting but in the end Leica's were made to be used. Although ideas about this might differ...
