Elsu Posted August 31, 2010 Share #41 Posted August 31, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have had the M9+NX095 combo for several months now. I have not noticed any real issue other than the chromatic aberration, discussed here, http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leica-m9-forum/130268-noctilux-095-m9-green-fringes.html NX095 is definitely a special lens. Its weight, price tag and extreme speed. I suppose a lot of people who have bought it mostly shoot it wide open at 0.95, me included. Shooting at that extreme, it seems you need to accept the amount of green fringes you get. Sometimes it does take a while to correct them n PS. I use LR3 to process all my photos. The tools do not help much to defringe green ones.
Advertisement Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Hi Elsu, Take a look here M9 + Noctilux 1:0.95 / 50 mm. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Wiggi Posted August 31, 2010 Author Share #42 Posted August 31, 2010 If you buy the Nocti ASPH still keep the lux ASPH. You will likely regret it otherwise. Is the Summilux 1.4/50 at f/1.4 so much better than the Noctilux 0.95/50 at f/1.4?
kidigital Posted September 1, 2010 Share #43 Posted September 1, 2010 If you are very concerned about lens size ... it might be something to consider. Otherwise, I'm glad I only have the Noct ASPH as I haven't personally run into a situation since I sold it that I regretted selling it. Kurt
sps Posted September 3, 2010 Share #44 Posted September 3, 2010 I have the most recent Noct 1:1. Can anyone who has played with this one and the new 0.95 comment on the speed of the focus ring? This is the greatest difference for me between the Noct and the others (the weight/size never bothered me). Having to turn that focus ring so far to capture a changing scene is tiresome. johnbuckley Posted September 3, 2010 Share #45 Posted September 3, 2010 I used to have the Noctilux f/1 and now have the 0.95. It has a smoother, faster focus ring, in my experience. Everything about the new Nocti seems better made, more solid. I find the focusing is easier to accomplish, though I couldn't tell you exactly why. By the way, some time ago, I posted on my Zenfolio gallery a set of shots taken in the same place with both the Noctilux and then the Nokton. If the weather holds, I'm going to try going to the same place and take pictures with the new Nocti, so all can see comparisons between the three. BerndReini Posted October 1, 2010 Share #47 Posted October 1, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) The Noctilux-M 50 mm 1:1 was not able to fully replace a 50 mm Summilux or Summicron, but the new Noctilux-M 50 mm 1:0.95 Asph is. Unless bulk and weight is an issue for you. Actually, the biggest advantage of the 50lux over the Noctilux is the focus throw. You can focus the 50lux much faster than the Noctilux, which is very important in many situations.

Shade Posted December 27, 2010 Share #52 Posted December 27, 2010 They're an amazing lens and camera combination. I have tried it before, but I can't justify the weight AND the price of it. I settled for the 50 Lux ASPH instead, and now I sold my 50 Lux ASPH for the 35 Lux ASPH II, loving the size and FoV...

JCR33 Posted February 16, 2011 Share #59 Posted February 16, 2011 Hi guys, Need some advice, should I get a Noct .95 or Lux 1.4? I do have a Noct 1.0 V4 for years and also an Elmar 2.8 collapsible. With the money for the Lux 1.4 plus selling the Noct V4 and the Elmar, I should be able to get the 0.95. So, which way should I go?
