I would be glad about your participation in the 11th Leica X challenge

„Silence„

Silence can be solemn, oppresive, eerie or breathless.
Silence we’ll find  in nature as well as in man-made environment.
To capture the silence is the challenging task of the 11th X-competition.

Not great photos, taken through window, but the X1 did such a fine job of reproducing the rainbow, I thought I would share. Both photos are tack sharp before adjustment to fit post

Since it is featured in the LFI M-Magazine Christmas Calendar today, I want to share this image here too.
Lyngen, North Norway.
X1, ISO 100, f/8, 1/250

I have an A3+ print on Hahnemühle Ultra Smooth of this image hanging in my room. This little camera still delivers IQ that is sometimes hard to believe (in print as well), and the X1 continues to serve me well.

Severely hamstrung when trying to compete with the simply awesome shots Alf is posting, I thought I'd at least keep this thread ticking along.

So Mano, what is the gut feeling?

It still "has it", or is "too old/slow", forget it?

The pictures, well they speak for themselves of course.

You have me thinking now. I had the X-Vario out, and was thinking to take it, for a specific shot I have in mind in about an hour or so.

Hmmmmm, maybe I will take the X1 instead. Be back soon/later.

Hi Gary, having used the Safari/35mm ASPH - I'm spoiled  ;) the X1 is a great camera, somewhat slow after the initial shutter activation.. AF was fine & remembering the benefits of the Lens took a little time.. I thoroughly enjoyed using it"..I used my XVario the other week, same thoughts, great but slow.. When using the X1 or XVario I tend to take a more deliberate/don't rush attitude -> results are always outstanding.. They are both great cameras to keep handy, I would never consider selling. Take Care..L
