Used X1s available-time for a X1.2?

It seems that lack of availability of X1s will soon be history. Besides Leica catching up with new supply, recently a number of used X1s were offered in the buy&sell section. Will be interesting to see how the baby Leica holds its value and what Leica will do once demand starts to dwindle. White, safari, gold, hermes versions?

How about an X1.2 with f2.0 lens (or at least f2.4), faster AF, pop up OVF (EVF might be to ambitious and could come in a X2) instead of a pop up flash which I (almost) never use.

I think it will be a while before we see that.. I'm not convinced supply is caught up with demand yet.. perhaps getting there though. That said, they are going to have a lot of repair work at hand preventing assembly of new units I would think, given the host of issues.

Seems obvious that a black paint version will be in the works. I always thought the goofy steel/silver finish was a lead in to "real" Leica finishes later on. The search for more money goes on!

Just how duirable is the sliver finish on the X1?

The silver on my Digilux 2 started wearing off around the back toi reveal plastic underneath before its silver expired and was replaced by a Digilux 3 on special offer.

Now the silver is wearing off on that machine on the "set" button and the surrounding 'joystick' buttons even though this camera has received much less use than my black plastic VLux1 which still looks prestine depsite much heavier use.

I would like to know this as well. Since the Digilux 2 and 3 were made by Panasonic on the same lines as the LC1/L1 the paint is undoubtedly theirs as it isn't anything like that on the M cameras. I'd like to know about the steel gray paint used on the X1/M9 though.

The best thing to build would be a stealth camera. Think of street photography. AND nobody could complain about coating.
