I bought my M9 in March and last week deployed my TAN number to get LR 2.6, figuring Leica was not going to give us LR3. So I upgraded to LR3 and paid 100 bucks.

Now, it seem, LR3 WILL be available to M9 buyers who waited to "use" their dlowload code for LR. Is this actually the case? Will there be anyway to get a refund on the upgrade?

At the current point in time, this question still is unsettled. But there are hints that seem to indicate the answer is going to be 'yes' eventually for those who patiently wait.

Don't know but my guess is: no way.

I suppose you can recover some of your money by selling your licence on e-bay.

Unless you receive an upgrade as you will need your license to update or reinstall FOREVER.

just be thankful you have the M9. You spent 7k so whats another $99 you can now do nothing about. Enjoy the camera

Exactly my idea! I enjoy working with the M9 and with LR3 and I really cannot be bothered waiting till Leica has sorted out this upgrade thing.

Hi All,

I too paid the $99.00 USD for the recently launced LR3 - and, I used it all day yesterday.

I must admit I wasn't overly impressed by the content of this recently launced LR3, but perhaps I have yet not found all the wonderful new additions made within the programme.

Nonetheless, as an M9 owner I feel it' is rather cheeky for any of us to now complain about the price required for this newly released Adobe programme after our having purchased our costly new M9's...

...not, to mention the new glass that I and others now have also subsequently/recently purchased.

To be perfectly honest - I am feeling blessed and honoured to have been able to afford the M9 and to be amongst the fortunate few who had the required contacts needed to be counted as one of those very blessed early M9 purchasers.

As for the new LR3 programme - I would appreciate another M9 user's opinion of this newly released LR3 programme and what specific new task they're discovered that has proven dramatic/important to them...in their photography.

With my respects,

Norwin

RAW/dng conversion is a significant improvement over previous versions. It gives a full stop, maybe two stops, increased ISO before noise becomes intrusive, so its now as good at 800 ISO as it was at 400 ISO etc.

Ditto. BIG improvement in fine control of noise, especially starting at ISO 800 and up.

The raw conversion engine is much improve over LR2...this is the big improvement . The noise reduction capabilities are much improved as well. Everything else for me was appreciated evolution of the features and functions.

I would view the many available videos that go through the improvements . I ve been using the Beta since it was available.
