The Boy, The Dog, the Sea and the M8

More evidence to show the nay-sayers that the M8 is a most serious camera in the hands of a talented photographer. Beautiful composition with the boy and dog perfectly placed, the dog heading in just the correct direction (slightly to the left), and with the horizon framed by the rocks, making the horizon seem straighter than it would otherwise seem (straighter than straight). Lovely light, details and subtle colors.

Hi Stuart - thank you for posting, and for your kind remarks. The dynamic range was a bit of a challenge in these shots, but as you say, the M8 comes up with the goods in spades if you use a little care.

Thanks again

Boy Jonathan, you nailed this one. The scene just explodes around your two perfectly-caught centerpieces like ... like ... no words really! Superb. And with your new digital instant-feedback M8 you knew it right then! How unfair to us filmaholics!

Beautiful colours and toning. The first shot on an M8 which actually makes me think it is worth owning. Probably down to your skill.

HI Louis

More likely down to luck I'd say! Still, the M8 is worth owning - buy one immediately!

Happy New Year and thanks for posting

A quick look at your website shows this quality is the norm for you. The Cornwall tourist bureau should hire you - this makes me want to come visit!

HI Bill

Thank you!

that one you've linked is in Trevaylor woods outside Penzance - I think the word Bosky was invented to describe it!

I keep trying to persuade my wife to move back down here (I was brought up in StIves, but now live in East Anglia).

If you saw it now with 50mph winds mist and rain squalls you wouldn't be quite so keen!

Happy New Year

Nice shot, indeed. It deserves to be up on the wall - 20 x 30.

But next time could you get it with the ball just a little above the horizon please. ;):D

Regards, Rick.
