d2mini Posted May 28, 2010 Share #1 Posted May 28, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Getting ready for a week long trip. Should still be able to squeeze in my Nikon D700 and fat 14-24 lens... just for the plane ride. Then I can remove what i don't need each day. And i added a Domke shoulder pad to the strap. bill Posted May 30, 2010 Share #14 Posted May 30, 2010 Hi Brian, It's a LowePro Street and Field Light Belt. The idea is that everything (and more) fits in the Billingham while travelling. Once there, the AVEA3s go from the ends of the bag onto the belt, as does everything else. In winter it all goes under a long coat, and in Summer (depending upon the location) I just wear it as is. I like to have my hands free, and the belt - well padded and ergonomic - sits on my hips comfortably all day, whether walking around a city or hiking in the country. Being a separate belt it is easy to slip off if you visit a cafe without taking your trousers off in the process I've used this setup for many years. leica007 Posted May 30, 2010 Share #15 Posted May 30, 2010 How heavy is Hadley pro? Is it comfortable enough to carry it on the shoulder the whole day with, say, one Leica M8/9, Zeiss ZM 25/2.8, 'cron 35/2A, 'lux 50mmA and 90mmAA ? Is it completely water proof? bill Posted May 30, 2010 Share #17 Posted May 30, 2010 How heavy is Hadley pro? Google is your friend. Not particularly. Is it comfortable enough to carry it on the shoulder the whole day with, say, one Leica M8/9, Zeiss ZM 25/2.8, 'cron 35/2A, 'lux 50mmA and 90mmAA ? I could, you might not - it's entirely personal. My preference is to distribute the weight, as you can see. Is it completely water proof? Yes. Unless you want to go swimming with it.
Overgaard Posted May 30, 2010 Share #18 Posted May 30, 2010 How heavy is Hadley pro? Is it comfortable enough to carry it on the shoulder the whole day with, say, one Leica M8/9, Zeiss ZM 25/2.8, 'cron 35/2A, 'lux 50mmA and 90mmAA ? Is it completely water proof? The bag feels light. I have sometimes had to carry my 15" MacBook Pro in it with a few lenses, small harddrives and other stuff for a day. That is a bit tiresome, but can be managed if you have the shoulder pad and you wear it across the chest to the other shoulder so that the weight is distributed. I get many compliments for my bag, especially from young ladies. Or perhaps it's just an opener they use. In any case, I'm happy with it. Same black color and olive green inside. Also available in olive outside but I now prefer the black "this bag is not here" look of it. Red Dot Cameras in London has the full Billingham line i the shop. So does B&H in New York. It is very difficult to judge a bag online so having the ability to play around with them in real life is a luxury.
