Dan States Posted March 17, 2010 Share #61 Â Posted March 17, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I had a BMW 120 for a while, lovely in many ways - I actually liked the design - but I wish BMW had remembered to fit shock absorbers to it! Â So what are the equivalent cars for the Ricoh and Olympus cameras? Â In the case of the RIcoh I'd say Studebaker Lark.
Advertisement Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Hi Dan States, Take a look here Mediocrity and the X1. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
magnolio Posted April 25, 2010 Share #62  Posted April 25, 2010 Imants - have you looked at the Panny GF1 and the 20mm f/1.7 lens? I like much of what I've read about the camera but am a little hesitant because of the high ISO noise. - Bruce  GF1 20mm 1,7 straight out of camera magnolio  http://monimag.eu/upload/432/mascara-ayacuch.jpg

Nei1 Posted April 26, 2010 Share #64 Â Posted April 26, 2010 I think a good camera is one that takes what you want, when you want it to.I think a bad camera is one that takes what it wants when it wants to........It seems to be surprisingly difficult for a smallish digital camera to be "good",.........inexplicable:confused:

lct Posted April 26, 2010 Share #66 Â Posted April 26, 2010 There are a lot of good cameras of course but if one wants the best image quality out of the smallest package, it is hard to find better compromises than S2, M9 or X1.

Tao Posted April 26, 2010 Share #68 Â Posted April 26, 2010 Ashwin - That's an outstanding portfolio. The B&W shots that experienced - and not-so experienced - photographers are coaxing out of the X1 has convinced me to get back on the waiting list and give this box a try. brill64 Posted April 26, 2010 Share #70  Posted April 26, 2010 A forum such as this will have many different opinions on what makes a good photograph. It is always a matter of personal opinion. I received my X1 from Dale Camera last Thursday. I never expected it to arrive so quickly but two days later while walking in downtown West Palm Beach I took this picture and liked it so much, I decided to put it on my blog. Oh ya—I love this camera!SaxePhoto Blog  your photblog and your pictures are great!
photoarne Posted April 26, 2010 Share #71 Â Posted April 26, 2010 Whatever happened to images of people moving some in foreground middleground etc. Â A few of these might perhaps be what you're looking for. Although these shots (of moving people) are sharp, there were also a fair number of OOF images. But I've only had the camera for a few days, so maybe the successrate will improve somewhat with experience. Nei1 Posted May 12, 2010 Share #74 Â Posted May 12, 2010 All cameras, once the shutter button is pressed, will at some later time take a photograph. The question is if its capable of taking the picture at the instant you want it to,like an M6.No photograph is needed to demonstrate this, just the honest opinion of a trusted user. h00ligan Posted May 12, 2010 Share #75 Â Posted May 12, 2010 Ricoh would be a 'Thing' in this reference thread Maybe Olympus pens would be a 240z? Â What you say is exactly right, and while the compromise with the X1 is accepted by myself and thousands of others, there is always a worry that forward progress in this technology in general could favor slower response when slower response could be avoided by better design. Call it Lazy Design Syndrome. I have very little doubt that Leica has all cards on the table at their design sessions, and are doing a better job per employee than most camera manufacturers.
