Sell my Digilux 2's for an X1?

My first post :)

I had a drive with an X1 today, am considering selling Thorsten and John Thawley to fund one for myself. (well, you have to have 2 and the names are obvious)

I'm a huge D2 fan, they have helped me re-discover cameras and the smile they put on your face.

I have a DL4 and this is the camera I carry every day. I guess the X1 is being considered because it would possibly be used a lot more than the D2's

They are complete sets, boxes, all accessories, renewed sensors for both. I also have a few spare batteries, a charger, three or four ND filters and one UV filter as well.

I'd be much happier if they went to forum members as opposed to the bay.

Any advice and opinions would be most welcome.

The D2 and DL4 were the gateway drugs into Leica for me. I have used both extensively with great satisfaction and very familiar with their strengths and limitations.

You should ask yourself the following questions before committing to changing your gear:

1. Will you be able to shoot with a fixed lens 35mm camera all the time?

2. Do you print large? If not, the larger sensor/mp won't really matter

3. Low-light/indoor shooting? If you do it a lot, then the X1 will be much more useful.

The controls, build, and IQ on the X1 are all excellent. But you would have to be able to live with the obvious limitations of not having zooms or the smaller form factor of the Dl4 (which is not much but still noticeable). Hope that helps.

You will be posting - and paying - for an ad in the buy/sell forum won't you?

I've placed both in the buy/sell section, after today's experience on the bay, this is the only place I will ever sell Leica gear, very reasonable cost too.
