JMK Posted February 24, 2010 Share #1 Posted February 24, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Nice to see Leica "hitting the bricks" and touting the M9 and the S2 in the forthcoming North American Road Show , but what is this going to do to the demand on an already difficult to obtain classic? Advertisement Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Hi JMK, Take a look here M9 - North American Road Show. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Ed_K Posted February 24, 2010 Share #2 Posted February 24, 2010 The demand for M9 is already exceeds supply but Leica might think there are more need to be done for the S2, so the road show for the M9 might be like "... hey, why don't you tag along" kind of attitude. Besides the economy in general is still at a slow pace, if they can make an extra $ out of this road trip, why not as it might be more profitable than attending the PMA ;-)
barcoder Posted February 24, 2010 Share #3 Posted February 24, 2010 I don't think they are planning to get rich off of the road show. I think is an excellent marketing strategy though. At $100 its pretty cheap. Plus they plan on giving vouchers away. So in the end I think they hope to break even. I'll be attending the 5/8 NYC M9 road show! Hope to see you there! scottwallick Posted February 24, 2010 Share #4 Posted February 24, 2010 I'll take any opportunity to learn more about Lightroom and color management. The breakdown in the brochure looks good, so last night I signed up for the 5/8 show in NYC.
Gentleman Villain Posted February 24, 2010 Share #5 Posted February 24, 2010 I love the idea and hope that it works out well for Leica.
carcam Posted February 24, 2010 Share #6 Posted February 24, 2010 Anyone signing up for the Leica Road Show? I did the one when the M8 came out a few years ago and it was wonderful. My wife is always looking for an excuse to go to NYC so I signed up for the May 8th program. If it's anything like the last one, it's well worth the cost ($99.00- isn't that like half a battery?). Hope to see some of you there. Kevin

carcam Posted February 25, 2010 Share #13 Posted February 25, 2010 skimmel- I didn't see the actual location. NYC is close enough for me. Last time I went, I didn't get the exact location until closer to the date and even then the time changed so I ended up a little early. It may depend on how many sign up. Whenever I have any questions (even very obscure ones ), Justin is the person I call first. He is also the one that stands on the M9 I will also be presenting with him at the kickoff event in Miami. I just posted some info on my blog (Riccis Valladares Photography Blog | Latest work from Riccis Valladares | Fine Art Wedding Photography | Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Miami) yesterday. I look forward to seeing old forum friends and meeting new ones. Cheers,

Danno_photoguy Posted February 26, 2010 Share #19 Posted February 26, 2010 My M9 came into the shop today, I will have it Monday. I have signed up for the March 24th NYC session. I have used Leica M & R's for over 20 years, but my only digital RF has been the RD-1. Looking forward to learning how to use it to the fullest. Just need to find the right moment to tell the wife that I got it ...........LOL Dan
Ed_K Posted February 26, 2010 Share #20 Posted February 26, 2010 I too cannot find the particular venue via the Toronto link. As i am planning to place my M9 order this April and this give away voucher for a serialized M9 would have messed up my original plan. Bummer .... i want to get the camera sooner, it would be nice if Leica would ship out the voucher earlier :-P
