Piewacket Posted February 26, 2010 Author Share #21 Posted February 26, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks Chris, I will look into that, I think why I like the M3 was it looked like I could pick up both a lens and body for a good deal. Today, I posted the results of my most challenging subject... a toddler! Check it our here!
Advertisement Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Hi Piewacket, Take a look here Testing Out the M9. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Haskell Posted February 26, 2010 Share #22 Posted February 26, 2010 Greetings Lara This is my 1st post here and I just stumbled on your thread...cheers. I really enjoyed your blog and you M9 results are making me envious. I am a professional filmmaker and shoot mostly with the RED one digital cinema camera so I am leaning towards something like an M3, or perhaps an MP...something that does not require batteries! I shot a roll of with a Leica ages ago and as you said, thats enough. Thanks again for sharing and best of luck.
George Bennett Posted February 27, 2010 Share #23 Posted February 27, 2010 Hi I am new to this Forum and a new M9 user as well. I just received my camera today. My question is: if the camera is set up for DNG files I am unable to use Adobe RGB color mode . It will only accept this, rather than sRGB, if programmed for JPG format. Is there something wrong with my camera? Am I doing something wrong? Can somebody point me in the right direction? Thanks, George
jaapv Posted February 27, 2010 Share #24 Posted February 27, 2010 Welcome to the forum:). Standard question # 1;).Answer: If you shoot DNG, the color space is not set in the camera, it is set by you in your RAW converter. So the setting is meaningless in the camera, so it is greyed out. jackperk Posted February 27, 2010 Share #25 Posted February 27, 2010 Dear Pie, Your photographs are lovely but may I offer one critical comment on your blogsite? I find the type face quite difficult to read. It doesn't cut through sharply and even when expanded is still a bit vague. jack

I find the type face quite difficult to read. It doesn't cut through sharply and even when expanded is still a bit vague. jack Thanks Jack for that feedback. I have not had other complaints but I myself have gone back and forth with it and have thought about changing it. I can't seem to get the spacing right for embedded links when I do, which is why I have stuck with this one. However, I will give it another look. Hi Clayton, Welcome...you can pick up an M2 or M3 fairly cheap these days, but be warned...a few weeks with one and you will be ordering an M9. I havent touched my 5DII since I bought mine. But of course I have a Red too to satisfy my motion needs.

I havent touched my 5DII since I bought mine. But of course I have a Red too to satisfy my motion needs. Hey! I knew I would be spotted by a reduser...I was just at a local dealer in NY who got 3 m9 bodies delivered while I was in the shop and I was very curious but budget wise I will probably wait for the M10 or what have you. Nice to seeing some familiar folks here. best
Piewacket Posted March 16, 2010 Author Share #35 Posted March 16, 2010 Thanks again to everyone, I am working on one more series of images I shot with the Leica, these for a guest blog post. I will let you all know when and where they are posted. In the mean time I just did a post some of you might find fun on toy cameras.
Peter H Posted March 16, 2010 Share #36 Posted March 16, 2010 Lara, what a fantastic blog! I hope you won't mind my saying this, but I do prefer it to your website. Somehow it communicates a lot more vitality, although the photos on your website are superb too. Perhaps its just the more informal nature of a blog, but it seems to communicate so much more directly and your personality shines through. Or maybe that's intentional since your website is, presumably, your professional face to the world and has a specific job to do. In any case, its all superb and I really hope you get the Leica you want soon. You'll certainly more than do it justice! Peter H
Piewacket Posted March 16, 2010 Author Share #37 Posted March 16, 2010 Thanks Peter for that feedback. I do see my website as serving a certain purpose and then hope that my blog adds something unique to that. I also hope that they can work together and also on their own. This is why my blog has it's own identity. I think it (a blog) is still a relatively new marketing tool for pros and there really are no rules. I will just add in the 11 months that i have been actively blogging I have really seen myself grow creatively, something that in your mid 40's you really don't expect. I contribute this too having to produce original content 5 days a week, most of which I shoot specifically for the blog. It is a lot of work but the rewards have been worth it so far. Thanks again to all here who have visited and been so supportive.
