coz Posted February 10, 2010 Share #1 Posted February 10, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, I'm looking at purchasing a pre-owned Leica. Does anyone know if the warranty is transferable if I buy it? Would I need the original sales receipt? I'm in the USA and the camera was sold here. Thanks! Advertisement Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Hi coz, Take a look here Leica Warranty - Transferable?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jwr50 Posted February 10, 2010 Share #2 Posted February 10, 2010 I am fairly sure -- but not certain -- that the answer is "no," it's not transferrable. If I were you, I would contact Leica NJ for the definitive answer -- and I would document the respone you receive from them.
AbbeyPhoto Posted February 10, 2010 Share #3 Posted February 10, 2010 I bought my M8 used last year and Leica were happy to transfer the warranty. All I had to do was send in the Passport card and they issued a new one in my name within 24 hours - excellent service here in the UK.

AbbeyPhoto Posted February 11, 2010 Share #5 Posted February 11, 2010 Wow, that's pretty unreasonable. Is this normal in the US?
