jsrockit Posted February 11, 2010 Share #21 Â Posted February 11, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Received this from the dealer I ordered from today: Â "Thank you for your inquiry. We don't have an official delivery date, but do expect the cameras very, very soon. Unfortunately, the weather in NJ is contributing to a bit of a delay." Â If snow is contributing to a delay, that must mean they are in the US already no? That comment about X1's being held at Newark Airport might not be so far off. Advertisement Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Hi jsrockit, Take a look here USA and X1. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
SteveYork Posted February 11, 2010 Share #22 Â Posted February 11, 2010 I was told that Leica USA is getting a "Big" shipment of M9s and X1s next week. But in the same breath they cautioned patience.
jsrockit Posted February 11, 2010 Share #23 Â Posted February 11, 2010 I hear ya Steve, even if the place I ordered from gets them, I may not get one since I ordered kind of late. Oh well, I'm patient since I have other cameras to use.

grober Posted February 12, 2010 Share #25 Â Posted February 12, 2010 E-mail response this morning (Friday) from Leica USA regarding the X1: "We do have some coming next week. Dealers will have in their hands by the 22nd." Â Now, of course, we're all wondering what Leica's definition of "some" might be. But at least the USA trickle will begin soon! Be nice to your Leica dealer... Â -g
jsrockit Posted February 12, 2010 Share #26 Â Posted February 12, 2010 How does 10 days away equal next week? Perhaps I'll get one in March... if I'm lucky.
stephen.w Posted February 12, 2010 Share #27 Â Posted February 12, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) My local leica shop in Hamburg only gets about 20 in a week. I've been told my number (67!) will be up closer to the end of Feb, beginning of March. They showed me some A3 size prints of pictures they have taken with the camera. Truly outstanding IQ. grober Posted February 12, 2010 Share #30 Â Posted February 12, 2010 What part of the USA? Â "NYC" is shorthand for New York City. NYC is currently a snowbound, struggling city in the northeastern part of the USA. Â -g

barjohn Posted February 13, 2010 Share #34 Â Posted February 13, 2010 The pole position is the first car (nearest the inside of the track) in the first line of cars on a race track like the Indy 500.
larbel Posted February 13, 2010 Share #35 Â Posted February 13, 2010 In Asia, Hong Kong to be exact, I was told the first batch here was only 5 units! I reserved one back in Dec at 3 or 4 different dealers, none called. Just happened I read online somewhere that a shop in Austria has stock a week ago, so I went ahead and order, 4 days later, I'm a proud owner of the X1 The price I paid including shipping were actually quite a bit lower than if I would buy it locally from the dealer as well. larbel Posted February 13, 2010 Share #36 Â Posted February 13, 2010 Oh, and a local dealer actually has the Ever-Ready case in stock!!! But they wanted $265 for it plus I can't fit the X1 in without the handgrip so I passed...
bondtoys.de Posted February 13, 2010 Share #37 Â Posted February 13, 2010 Hello Larbel, Â what is the official price for the X1 in Hong Kong?
larbel Posted February 13, 2010 Share #38 Â Posted February 13, 2010 The official price is HK$16,000 (approx. US$2,100). But the thing is the dealers here are upcharging with preminum, I've heard the "street price" right now is HK$18,000 to HK$22,000....
Ecaton Posted February 13, 2010 Share #39 Â Posted February 13, 2010 Bad timing . My dilemma is that I bought the GXR with A12 module and hope Ricoh will announce a moderately wide and fast lens module on February 17th, and some firmware updates addressing AF issues, though its AF seems faster under contrasty conditions than the X1 ones. In which case the GXR is undoubtedly the better choice. The better camera, it is anyway, I believe. I might just get the X1 for direct comparison, and sell it (at a little loss) if my expectations get confirmed:).
