Logic108 Posted February 3, 2010 Share #5 Posted February 3, 2010 Yes if the lens has an aperture ring. O.k so yes with Leica lenses.
TEBnewyork Posted February 3, 2010 Share #6 Posted February 3, 2010 I wonder how you can manually change the aperture? I asked the same question at DPReview. First hit the EV button. Press it again (or the down button) and you are adjusting Shutter or Aperture For EV press once and then use left right keys.
jsrockit Posted February 3, 2010 Share #7 Posted February 3, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Why would anyone buy this over a used E-P1 or even a new E-P1? This thing is but ugly and a step back for Olympus style wise. However, a step in the right direction price wise.
Dan States Posted February 3, 2010 Share #8 Posted February 3, 2010 Considering the main reasons why the GF1 is so popular relative to the EP1 (Fast autofocus and a better screen) I don't see why Olympus is going the cheapo route. They are already discounting the EP1 heavily while the GF1 is out of stock in most places and selling for more than list....They should have made a better camera, not a cheaper one. I think the GF-1 is sold out because Panasonic is not making enough of them... not because they are selling so much more than the E-P1/E-P2. The Olympus offerings are doing quite well sales wise too. I think they went cheaper to take away some of the budget DSLR sales...because a camera like the E-PL1 fits a family snapshot consumer better than a budget DSLR. The E-P2 is priced too high for the avergae consumer.
Don Helmudo Posted February 3, 2010 Share #10 Posted February 3, 2010 Why would anyone buy this over a used E-P1 or even a new E-P1? This thing is but ugly and a step back for Olympus style wise. However, a step in the right direction price wise. I agree. It looks like any other cheap camera. They all look the same. The E-P1 & E-P2 have been remarkable exceptions to all those cams. I might buy an E-P1 or E-P2 (with the fast Lumix lens ) if there wan´t the X1, but I would never buy an E-PL1 just because the way it looks I do not expect everybody to understand that attitude
