I second that!

I've had a delightful mail correspondance with Bee as I've ordered a b-laïka. She offered to hand-brand my name on a leather tag on the bag. Nice touch! Now I only need a M9 to put into it....

Hi There

She did that for me as well - and such delightful emails, it makes the whole thing into a real pleasure . . . No capitals in bee berman's name though :-)

Now you must buy a Fogg B-Laika - it perfectly fits two M9 bodies with lenses attached with 2 extra lenses - all easily accessible, and it's still a tiny bag. Dealing with bee berman and Nigel Fogg is a delight, and the bags are simply wonderful!

Hi

How do you stuff the two extra lenses? On your pictures there is two cameras with one lens each and I can't figure out how you can put two extra lenses in there in a safe way?

Would you ba able to provide a picture?

Well, I have a few bags, and somehow have found a way to justify too many:

Artist and Artisan Oskar's day bag (camera, and 2-3 lenses)

Artisan and Artist Image Smith (for 2 cameras, 4 lenses)

....

.....

I find the Oscar's day bag suitable for two cameras with two lenses and an additional 2+ lenses (I use one extra padding).

In one end, one camera with a 28/2.8

In the other end, one camera with a 35/2 pre-ASPH

Two middelcompartmens with a diagonal divider which one lens in each compartment, tow if you stack.

This setup would fit when you have short lenses on the camera. For longer lenses it is also possible to put the camera on top of the paddings with the lens stuck down in one of the compartmens ( a bit like the setup in the Billingham Leica bag)

Hi There

no time for a picture today I'm afraid. There are two flaps with velcro attachments. I have these attached to the side so that the lens rests on the top of them - the spare lenses go underneath, widthways on (if you see what I mean). Sometimes I do without the flaps and put the lens in a pouch (again underneath the lens of body with lens attached). It works extremely well.

Great to hear. I didn't know. I'll be doing a photo seminar there in two weeks time so that is as perfect as can be.

The B-Leika is interesting Fogg Specialist Bags though I don't know about the colors. The black is nice, but perhaps should be all-black. Unless of course the brown turns dark brown sooner than later.

I've just update the page with more on the Shootsac

leica.overgaard.dk - Thorsten Overgaard's Leica Pages - Leica M9 Digital Rangefinder Camera - Page 7: Color calibrators X-Rite Billingham Bags Shootsac Camera straps sexy lenses and more ...

Sorry - no time for a picture today.

The other lenses are under the lenses of each camera - either with a divider between the camera and the spare lens, or else with the lens in a pouch. You can easily fit a 90 elmarit sideways like this . . . I guess a Noctilux might be more of a squeeze, but it should still fit well.

Hi Thorsten,

I highly recommend the Upstrap for the M (for any camera actually). Not the "sexiest" strap in the world (far from) but probably the safest and with $10k around one's shoulder (rarely neck for me) that's a good thing. I use the RF model for my Nikon D3 as well.

Oh, the colors are awful. Sorry, I never got this khaki thing. To me the best bags hands down are the black Billinghams. I use a Hadley small and a 335. Probably going to pick up something in between at some point (a 107 or Hadley Pro?).

The A&A's are nice but the velcro on the one I had drove me crazy. These people make very nice bags which can be modified by adding an insert.

property of... fine bags & wares - welcome

Hi There

No capitals in bee berman's name though :-)

Really? I thought it was an error... I shall mail my apologies tomorrow. She was very interested in my slightly unusual name, so maybe I will get an explanation on hers.

BTW, I have ordered the b-laïka in charcoal and oak leather, I really fell for that combination.

Is there a smaller Fogg bag for just a single body and a couple extra lenses?

I have the Lyre which holds one M9 with lens mounted + 2 extra (small) lenses. The Harp small extra bag attached externally holds my 90 Cron.

So I didn't succeed in ordering a A&A Oscar bag from USA due to PayPal sellers security rules (doesn't apply for Denmark; meaning that PayPal will support conmen receiving gear and then complaining about it. PayPal will then refund the customer even the customer keep the equipment. Clearly not a great deal for sellers who actually deliver the goods. The PayPal seller protection only goes fro USA, Canada and a few other countries).

But I'll be having a look in a couple of weeks in Berlin where Monochrom carry the full A&A line. It's compeltely new for me that any European shop has A&A so that's nice

The beauty of paypal... and why I no longer use it.

Hi Jono

I have now found a UK source for the Giottos Aegis SP8250 screen protector. These are available from Just Ltd, The Old Shop, Hook, Swindon, SN4 8EA (www.cameraclean.co.uk). I purchased two yesterday for the princely total of £23.88 inclusive of Royal Mail Special Delivery.

It might also be of interest that Red Dot Cameras now carry an ACMAXX Polycarbonate Screen Protector that fits the D-Lux 4 as well as the one for the M8/9.

Not that easy to shop in japan as I though ;)

But I did learn that Artisan & Artist* is not the official site but belongs to the former US distributor. I don't know if that covers some controversy ... the A&A must be the original made in Japan in any case. The website of the original is http://www.aaa1.co.jp

Hmm, perhaps this is what it is about. A copycat product: http://www.photovillage.com/product.php?productid=2887 called Black Label, which happens also to be a name of Tenba (who doesn't do copycat products)
