Old Money

Richard,

I like the way the wall to the right holds my interest in the body of the picture, despite the man's gaze leading it out. Nicely done. Good tones too.

Richard,

I like the picture, the composition, the moment you captured.

But the scan/print is much too light on the right side (imho). The wall and the money need more density; And the man's face could need a little more light.

Here's a quick an dirty try, just to illustrate what I mean (hope you don't mind my playing with your work... your image deserves a better print!):

Tom, your version looks a little sponchy... look at his trousers .. a little crop on the left concentrates more on him.. regards

Thanks to all for the comments - I would be interested in what the various processes and software that was used for the tone development.

I am currently getting my software together for processing raw images from a D-Lux2 and a R-D1, and eventually an M8. I will have CS2 in a couple of weeks and for now I am only working with Lightroom Beta 3 on an intel iMac. I have EpsonRaw and find it works better than ACR for B&W but lacks functionality and doesn't seem to integrate with Lightroom.

I am open to suggestions and comments.

Richard; I think you already got good advice.

OT: I wonder how these people get some money out of this kind of business? Isn't there a fixed rate for old and new turkish lira? Just for the heck of it.... Thanks.

....Stefans version is getting the closesed to my likings (would you wonder) ? even that it's impossible to correct the heavy hand semrich had on the burning and dodging (trousers and edge of the jacket).

this photo has potential though :)
