What's New: Version 2.6.1:

 

+ Includes one important correction that is only relevant for

Leica M9 users. This release of Lightroom fixes a bug that

caused Lightroom 2.6 to crash when processing certain M9

images. The bug was introduced in the final version of

Lightroom 2.6 in the course of making image quality

improvements to Leica M9 processing based on customer

feedback. There is no need to update to 2.6.1 if you aren\'t

a Leica M9 user.

For me LR 2.6RC has worked very well with M9 data but it's time to update. I wonder what function went into LR 2.6 at so late a stage and did not work.

Do beware that the auto-update feature of LR (where it checks for any updates when it starts, and if it finds one will prompt one to download it) still points to 2.6.

 

You have to manually navigate to the link that William provided above to find 2.6.1.

I guess Adobe doesn't want all LR users to start downloading the new version, since its only purpose is to support a minority of Leica users.

Interesting, 2.6.1 loads significantly faster on my 15inch than 2.6 did, never had a crashing problem, but love the faster loading, whatever they did, its good.

i keep getting messages that i need to update Camera Raw to 5.6.1 when i open up images from Ligtroom in Photoshop. But 5.6.1 does not exist on Adobe.com only 5.6.. Anyone else getting that?

I just tried it, and it works like a charm with CF1.3.0.4 and LR 2.6.1!

 

No message of damaged file.

First report I've heard of such a problem - if it is a CornerFix problem, please send me the original and converted DNG.
