If the new sales figure fallen down, why no-one has new summilux 50mm in stock?? i wonder

Maybe because the PreAsph Summilux 50 is no longer in production and one has to accept the compromise of getting an Asph? :D

Cheers,

Bruno

A beautiful shot indeed, Andy. Much of the credit is for either the photographer and the model, but the lens is not that bad indeed. Made me want to wipe out the dust on my one sample and try it once more.

and now it's superb!!!

The lens has become somewhat more transparent and the skills of the photographer and the beauty of the child have legitimately taken the main stage.

Bruno

These were taken within Ameyayokocho Black Market, Tokyo.

I walked into a interesting camera shop in the area that was stacked floor to ceiling with vintage camera gear. One wall was dedicated to M mount equipment, most of which was out of my budget. In the masses of silver screw mount lenses I see a Canon 50mm 1.5 that has seen better days. Haze covered the edges of the rear element but otherwise the glass was free of deep scratches.

There were about 5 men of different ages in this tiny shop and I asked the one closest to me how much I could buy the lens for. After conferring with each other for a couple minutes they tell me 10,000 yen which is about 125 u.s. dollars. Good enough for me.

I slapped it on the M8 right away and started shooting. When pointing the lens towards the sun wide open there is a dreamy quality to the images which can be quite appealing and when stopped down its surprisingly sharp and saturated.

Here are a couple examples right after I bought it. They are shot wide open but some of the dreaminess is lost when converting to b/w/

Really nice shots, Andy! Great light and great lenses. It might make me want a 90TE... except I already have one, bought new in 1968. Haven't used it much, should take it out for a spin. But then the lens is just one factor contributing to really nice shots. :)

Andy,

splendid photo!

What version of the Tele-Elmarit 90/2,8 is it, please (fat or slim?).

I only know the later (slim) version. Among the 90 mm lenses, it is one of my favourites, because it is so compact (like an Elmar), light-weight, and very good from f/4 on, and often gives interesting results even at f/2,8 (I like the out-of-focus areas at f/2,8 with it).

Best regards,

Telyt2003
