Advertisement Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 Hi semrich, Take a look here Ablution. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
graham_mitchell Posted July 7, 2006 Share #2 Posted July 7, 2006 It seems to have a little perspective distortion, which could easily be fixed. The large black shadow on the right is also distracting. Other than that it's an interesting subject.
stuny Posted July 7, 2006 Share #3 Posted July 7, 2006 Richard - Ah, just ouside the mosque itself, near where the old man sits knitting to pose for photos for a fee. Your photo tells a story, and tells it well. And, it's a nice reminder of one of the most interesting cities in the world. Stuart
jmr Posted July 7, 2006 Share #4 Posted July 7, 2006 Really good shot. It would benefit from a few degrees clockwise rotation, I think.
semrich Posted July 7, 2006 Author Share #5 Posted July 7, 2006 Graham and John - When I viewed this post, I noticed the black shadow (the face of the first column) considered taking it out, then decided to leave it in. I felt it added depth and the sense I had of peeking in during a spiritual moment. I leveled the shot against the row of columns, it could use a little rotation. Stuart - This was sort of a quick shot as I came up the steps, I hesitated not wanting to intrude, then went for it because it was special to see just one person there bringing water to his face, to capture a place of solitude at such a busy tourist attraction. Thanks for your comments, Richard
ddh Posted July 7, 2006 Share #6 Posted July 7, 2006 It does look quite intimate. Love the perspective. Nice work. Thanks for showing.

jackart Posted July 8, 2006 Share #8 Posted July 8, 2006 In general, I like this shot. nice perspective and solitude. Strong shade on the column on the right spois the composition and catches too much attention. Would You try to crop it and photo becomes more integrated? -jaak
semrich Posted July 11, 2006 Author Share #9 Posted July 11, 2006 Graham, Jaak - Here is the cropped version that was suggested, it does look better thanks for noticing and your suggestions.
