Advertisement Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Hi msr, Take a look here Fred, the Cat. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stuny Posted December 8, 2006 Share #2 Posted December 8, 2006 Malcolm - I agree with Dirk -- This needs to be posted larger. As it is, the picture elements all work well together, and the light, framing and lush tones make the image most appealing.
msr Posted December 8, 2006 Author Share #3 Posted December 8, 2006 I have been pulling my hair out trying to get this image larger without going over the size limit. I am working in Photoshop. If someone wouldn't mind giving me some advice I would welcome it and then repost the image. Malcolm
Dirk Van der Herten Posted December 8, 2006 Share #4 Posted December 8, 2006 If someone wouldn't mind giving me some advice I would welcome it and then repost the image. 1. Open the image 2. File menu > Save for web 3. A box containing your image will appear 4. To the left, you notice a small box called "image size" 5. Fill in the desired size 6. Then click apply 7. Save Note: the maximum size should not be larger than 940 pixels at the widest side, and not be more than 240 KB.

samwells Posted December 8, 2006 Share #7 Posted December 8, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Malcolm - that's a very nice, witty shot...lovely light, and a great collection of miscellaneous items scattered around. Like the languid pose of the cat (funny how cats seem to look sooo cross when photographed). Thanx for showing. cheers: Sam
davidmires Posted December 8, 2006 Share #8 Posted December 8, 2006 I love the full tonal range and deep shadow detail. I also love how Fred's paw is held out, slightly, as if to say: "Come here, just a little bit closer..." Nice photo. On a side note: Is that a Tungsol 6550 in the foreground? jmr Posted December 8, 2006 Share #9 Posted December 8, 2006 Malcolm, nicely composed photo; nicely reposed cat.
wda Posted December 8, 2006 Share #10 Posted December 8, 2006 A very fine environmental portrait of a cat in his domain. David
John Maio Posted December 8, 2006 Share #11 Posted December 8, 2006 I love the full tonal range and deep shadow detail. I also love how Fred's paw is held out, slightly, as if to say: "Come here, just a little bit closer..."Nice photo. On a side note: Is that a Tungsol 6550 in the foreground? Looks like Fred is trying to read the nomenclature on the tube (valve, if you like). Its one of those images where, the more you look at it, the more there is to be revealed. I like it a lot. bebal Posted December 8, 2006 Share #14 Posted December 8, 2006 A nice image -- it's one for the cat lovers. I would have croped it a bit, but anyway, I like it. Paul
msr Posted December 9, 2006 Author Share #15 Posted December 9, 2006 I love the full tonal range and deep shadow detail. On a side note: Is that a Tungsol 6550 in the foreground? David, Aperture helped me pull the shadow detail out of my original scan. As for the Tugsol 6550 I don't know. The studio belongs to my friend Roger Wood who makes whimsical clocks from old radio tubes, musical instuments etc., so it just happened to be there that day. "I would have croped it a bit, but anyway, I like it." - Paul I never crop my Leica images. I think that discilpline makes me compose better while shooting. Thanks everyone for your comments. I am glad you liked the photo!
msr Posted December 9, 2006 Author Share #16 Posted December 9, 2006 For those of you that enquired I have learned that the tube in the foreground is a Ken-Rad #42. Malcolm
