harmsr Posted December 7, 2006 Share #1 Posted December 7, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) I needed a break from the M8 and shot the M5 with that old fashioned film stuff in both color and B&W. These are from an Old West mining town that was booming in the late 1800s and early 1900s, but is now just a spot for tourists. It is about 20 miles from my house and enjoyable. jmr Posted December 7, 2006 Share #2 Posted December 7, 2006 Ray, that's some impressive local scenery you've got there. Very nicely captured too.
Peter41951 Posted December 7, 2006 Share #3 Posted December 7, 2006 Thank you. I particularly liked the horses (lovely colour - that's the horses and the photo) and the typewriter.
robert_parker Posted December 7, 2006 Share #4 Posted December 7, 2006 I really like the detail in the horses one as well - bit worried about the vandalism in the car park, though...
stuny Posted December 8, 2006 Share #5 Posted December 8, 2006 Ray - Terrific colors, clarity, depth and composition.
martinop Posted December 8, 2006 Share #6 Posted December 8, 2006 I enjoy the horse profile + the main drag in the town. I have not seen a type writer like that in ages. Also like the remains of the antique cars.
samwells Posted December 8, 2006 Share #7 Posted December 8, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Wonderful luminosity and freshness to the light in all these (especially compared to the UK gloom we're now surrounded by here!); mmm, and the derelict cars look worthy of further photographic discovery. Thanx for showing. cheers: Sam
leicamann Posted December 9, 2006 Share #8 Posted December 9, 2006 Wow..nice stuff annnnd I might add very nicely scanned.Did you scan these? Which films did you use? Thanks for sharing Regards, Leicamann
billh Posted December 9, 2006 Share #9 Posted December 9, 2006 It would be interesting to see some B & W of this place in the moonlight. The car park problem mentioned may preclude such a venture?
harmsr Posted December 9, 2006 Author Share #10 Posted December 9, 2006 John, Peter, Robert, Stuart, Paul, Sam, JRM, Bill, Thanks to all of you for looking and taking the time to comment. It really is a fun place to visit. My next trip there will be in the late afternoon to get the lighting. The vandalism in the parking lot is really bad as you can see, but I'll bring my doberman to for protection. John (JRM) - Yes, I did scan these myself. I'm finally getting the hang of my Nikon Super Coolscan 5000 ED. (Pretty happy with the results now.) The color film was Portra 160 VC and the B&W film was Ilford FP4. Best, Ray
