noah_addis Posted January 3, 2010 Share #1 Posted January 3, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Occasionally I think about posting photos to the forum, but my work doesn't seem to fit the existing categories. Why not have a Documentary and Street Photography section? I'm sure I don't need to point out that there is a long tradition of documentary work being done with Leica cameras. I think it would be a good addition and I'd post photos there from time to time...

stunsworth Posted January 4, 2010 Share #3 Posted January 4, 2010 I've always posted my street stuff in the people forum, I think that's part of what it's there for.
earleygallery Posted January 4, 2010 Share #4 Posted January 4, 2010 Same here, mostly the People forum or if not Others.
Guest stnami Posted January 4, 2010 Share #5 Posted January 4, 2010 Street forums end up being free for alls, beach scenes, sitting in a pub, shopping in big department stores, someone's backyard etc
bill Posted January 4, 2010 Share #6 Posted January 4, 2010 I've always posted my street stuff in the people forum, I think that's part of what it's there for. Quite. And if there are no people in your "street" photos, post them in "Architecture" Regards, Bill
erl Posted January 4, 2010 Share #7 Posted January 4, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Noah, my first reaction was to agree with you as I feel my images tend to align with where I think yours are coming from. Then I considered the individual content as opposed to why I took it and realized I can fit these images into more than one category. Mostly I can slip individual pics into 'people', otherwise into 'travel', other wise 'other'. Even though I like to think I am documenting, unless a series is collected together, they would not necessarily appear to a viewer as documentary. For that reason I post in 'forum sections' that may not relate to the original intent. Not sure if that makes sense but I hope so.
alun Posted January 4, 2010 Share #8 Posted January 4, 2010 Noah -- I agree. But I also don't think it would work. Sadly, street photography is a minority interest on this as on many other forums.... But post some pictures in PEOPLE now and then.

elansprint72 Posted January 4, 2010 Share #10 Posted January 4, 2010 Why not post in the SNAPSHOT thread?

jaapv Posted January 19, 2010 Share #12 Posted January 19, 2010 i think the people forum is overloaded just for this reason. Good images disappear far too quickly. A street forum is a good idea imo.
