Cityman Posted December 31, 2009 Share #1 Posted December 31, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thought that those lucky ones who have gotten their Lux 50 lenses would give some hope to those still on the wait. So please update your delivery details in same style as the M9 delivery registry thread.

tategoi Posted January 1, 2010 Share #5 Posted January 1, 2010 My dealer in Singapore says there was no production of the 50 Lux at the moment. ETA 2Q10, that is a very long wait. I got myself a 35 cron instead.
jjjjuin Posted January 1, 2010 Share #6 Posted January 1, 2010 There're a lot in stock here in China. I can at least have five 50 lux. This realized me that, there must be a problem in Leica's supply chain. I can find items that western countries are out of stock but in stock in China, also, some items can be hardly found in China but they're in stock outside of the country. I got myself a 35 cron instead. You really mean 2nd quarter 2010?? Did your dealer give you any reason for this delay in production? when this lens is currently the most demanded one all over. rebelfocus Posted January 1, 2010 Share #11 Posted January 1, 2010 Paid in full on 5 Nov, 2009 in a large UK dealer. Still waiting almost 2 months later and have been told that Leica UK don't expect deliveries until the end of January at the very earliest (still to be confirmed) I was in the Leica store in London over xmas and they told me that in the 14 weeks they have been open they haven't received a single new 50 Lux and had no idea when they would be receiving stock. It's despairing this status.... it even makes me contemplate changing my order to 35 cron. What do you think people? should I still wait for the lux to arrive? What do you think people? should I still wait for the lux to arrive? ...your money, your lens, your decision. The 35 Summicron is a worthy lens if you do decide to go for it. Sorry if I sound a tad brusque but this has to be your call.
Guest AgXlove Posted January 1, 2010 Share #15 Posted January 1, 2010 Apparently Leica hasn't heard that the world economy (and millions of personal economies) have been in the crapper since early fall of 2008. I don't know about everyone else, but the prices of new Leica M lenses & bodies have pretty much forced me out of the Leica market. I hope the rich and fabulous will buy enough cameras & lenses to keep Leica afloat. Being neither rich or fabulous, I will have to get by with the Leica equipment I have. doug_m Posted January 2, 2010 Share #16 Posted January 2, 2010 The 50 lux ASPH is REALLY worth the wait! I would not change the order to a 35 cron but this is just my opinion. Hang in there everybody
frozenace Posted January 2, 2010 Share #17 Posted January 2, 2010 I agree that the 50 is really worth the wait, although I think the 35 cron is really light and portable

rebelfocus Posted January 5, 2010 Share #20 Posted January 5, 2010 I was in a well known London dealer's shop on Wednesday and he had a 50 Summilux that he'd just received from Leica UK for a customer. Thanks for that info Ian. Of course, it's anybody's guess how long that customer had been waiting. At least it indicates that Leica UK are able to supply. I'll have to follow up with my dealer (ffordes) to see if they have an updates.
