elansprint72 Posted January 6, 2010 Author Share #25 Posted January 6, 2010 Ok, I have hunted high and low to find something trivial enough, so here we go: Regards, Bill Bill, You can do worse than this. Much worse. Look to erl's shot of the shoes in the sky; that should be your starting point. Some folks think snapshots are easy. If you are struggling, find a shop window. Or a dog. Or a dog in a window. If you can crack this; just watch the insincere, sycophantic praise gush in. (sic).

andybarton Posted January 9, 2010 Share #34 Posted January 9, 2010 How about this? Cropping may move it away from snap-dom. My Mum, thinking about my Dad just before he had to go into hospital to have his shoulder joint replaced, having dislocated and broken it slipping on the ice last week. Welcome, dear visitor! pop Posted January 9, 2010 Share #35 Posted January 9, 2010 How about this? Dismal failure. Not a snapshot at all, regardless of time spent taking it. Rigorously formal framing, classigal triangle, symmetry broken by both gaze and paraphernalia on table which are nearly on the same line. Details like circular place mat and oblong watch describe character of subject. Welcome presence of photographer implied by drinking glass. The only element which is somewhat "out of place" appears to be the door handle, and this one can be explained away.
elansprint72 Posted January 9, 2010 Author Share #36 Posted January 9, 2010 Okey dokey. Let's hear your best faint praise for this <cough> fine work please! Great work and what fabulous timing to catch that signal just in the right place; you must be a genius. Shame that your S2 is showing the dreaded column pixel failure down the right. Evidently if you ring Leica they will send you a personal fix with your very own name on it, great service. They have done this for all the S2 cameras they have sold in the UK, allegedly; that's both of them.
leicadig3 Posted January 9, 2010 Share #37 Posted January 9, 2010 Excuse me for not understanding the meaning, but ... Would that be a snapshot? Regards. Enrique. Welcome, dear visitor! farnz Posted January 9, 2010 Share #39 Posted January 9, 2010 Great work and what fabulous timing to catch that signal just in the right place; you must be a genius. Shame that your S2 is showing the dreaded column pixel failure down the right. Evidently if you ring Leica they will send you a personal fix with your very own name on it, great service. They have done this for all the S2 cameras they have sold in the UK, allegedly; that's both of them. That's the spirit! I took the shot particularly for high contrast in the shadows cast by the hedge and made sure to meter off the snow and overexpose by a stop so that the snow wouldn't be dishwater grey. I intended to capture the decisive moment when the train startled a polar bear cub and a zebra foal but they must have ducked behind signal. Should I have used anti-shake for this shot? No, this was taken with a prototype Lie-ca S3, which is the same as the S2 but with an auto-everything Snapshot Mode, which on the evidence of my best shot so far, works very well. Pete. elansprint72 Posted January 9, 2010 Author Share #40 Posted January 9, 2010 T Should I have used anti-shake for this shot? Pete. You clearly used anti-snake scene mode because there are no snakes in the picture. Useful feature to have in Queensland, I would imagine.
