The theme for the month is SNAPSHOT, this is the place to show your spur of the moment "captures", images taken on the train, at the bus station, through a shop window; pictures of your kids at Christmas, your dog, cat or wife/husband/partner(s)- show us your worst. Stick 'em up here and don't clutter up the rest of the photo forums.

Here's my contribution for this month's theme.

So sorry for another boat snapshot Pete but, no matter which road I take for work, I'm bound to encounter the sea. :o

Catshot?

I really like the bokeh on this one and 100% crops of the whiskers are amazing to see. I used a top range Manfrotto tripod with spirit level and a slave flash with diffuser to obtain more even lighting. The Lastolite reflector also helped to avoid 'red eye' which I'm pleased with, and helped give the little highlights to the eyes which makes the shot IMHO. PP was fairly simple, layers for contrast, sharpening, levels and curves and I played around with the colour version too but preferred the impact of this one. I'd love to do this again with the S2 and eek out even more quality, although the 5 X 3' prints I've had made look OK.

Great capture! Exquisite for content, angle, tonality, movement, stillness, framing, naming and shaming.

ALL STRUNG UP!

Search as I will, I struggled to find a crapshot, or should it be a snapshot? I have difficulty with both terms but not to worry. With any luck, someone will call it either snap or crap. ;)
