Blackhorse17 Posted December 28, 2009 Share #1 Posted December 28, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am now the proud owner of a new D-Lux4. Very happy with it. Two simple questions, on page ten of the instructions it shows a cord to keep the lens cap connected to the body. I didn't get one. Is there a source for the lens strap? Second question, I have version 1.1 firmware. I've seen some posts about some issues with the newer version. Should I update or leave it alone? Here is a link to my Flickr account, the top five pictures were taken with the D-Lux4, just quick snapshots to get a feel for the camera. Jeff S Posted December 28, 2009 Share #6 Posted December 28, 2009 I didn't get the cord either - triple checked the box too. As I recall, the cord came taped to the outside of another item in the box...can't remember which. So, if you disposed of other packaging, cord may have gone with it. Otherwise, you might want to check again with this in mind. Jeff
Blackhorse17 Posted December 28, 2009 Author Share #7 Posted December 28, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks for all the replies, I'll check again in the box to see if missed the little cord taped to the underside of another box. Guess now I'll have to upgrade the firmware to the newest and greatest. I have another little issue as well. I can download my pictures using the supplied cable, but when I tried to download at work using a card reader with my Apple it wasn't recognized. Took the card to a colleague using a Windows machine, he had the same problem. I did format the card in the camera. Thanks
lykaman Posted December 28, 2009 Share #8 Posted December 28, 2009 Hi, check if you are using a card reader that is compatible with the SDHC cards, newer cards will not work with older card readers..L
Jeff S Posted December 29, 2009 Share #9 Posted December 29, 2009 Thanks for all the replies, I'll check again in the box to see if missed the little cord taped to the underside of another box. It may have been taped to some wrapping for another item, as I recall, not to a box. I sold my Dlux 4 so I can't check to refresh my memory. I'm sure Leica NJ customer service will replace if you can't find. I've had very good experiences with them on my M system. Jeff
Blackhorse17 Posted December 29, 2009 Author Share #10 Posted December 29, 2009 My card reader is an older model, I just pulled out my now retired Canon that uses a similar card, it is a 60X vs. the 133x in the Leica. I'll pick up a new card reader today and see if that fixes the issue. I'll ping Leica on the lost cord and once i get the card reader working I'll update the firmware. Thanks to all for the help, much appreciated!
ceflynn Posted December 29, 2009 Share #11 Posted December 29, 2009 The manual for the Panasonic DMC-LX3 has a few details not in the Leica D-Lux 4 manual. You can download the manual after using the pop-up menus on this page: Support - Downloads - UK & Ireland
