jklotz Posted December 21, 2009 Share #1 Posted December 21, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Greetings, ad forgive me if this has been covered already. What are you guys doing for screen protectors for your M9? I had the Gitzo for my M8, although I have found a ACMAXX LCD ARMOR for considerably less money on ebay, and will hopefully have an M9 in my hands shortly. Any experience with this product? Thanks

luigi bertolotti Posted December 21, 2009 Share #2 Posted December 21, 2009 I mounted one (cheap - phone/type) time ago... but discovered that holding the camera as I do (often, "naked" at my chest) causes inevitably to have it gradually detaching when the back is in contact with myself moving... so decided it is no useful for me. Inexpensive shipping too. All my local dealers were out of that specific model.
MEB Posted December 22, 2009 Share #7 Posted December 22, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I put a Giottos on mine within 10 minutes of receiving my M9. The screen cover is crystal clear, multi-coated glass that is an exact fit for the screen. Very easy to install. I'm very satisfied with mine. pnoble Posted December 22, 2009 Share #8 Posted December 22, 2009 Me too. Giottos, Schott Glass SP8250: 12 layer anti-reflective glass cover. $25 to protect the LCD panel of a $7,000 camera? Perfect.
nryn Posted December 22, 2009 Share #9 Posted December 22, 2009 I have the ACMAXX. Bought it on recommendation from this forum. I bought it first for my D-lux 4 and now for my M9. It's fine. A little more glare than I suspect the Giottos version has, but it fits well and is doing the job. I don't like the way the Giottos adds another logo. But in the end it really doesn't matter to me; I'm only using the LCD for making settings; the rest of the time it's covered by the back flap of my Luigi case. chris_tribble Posted December 22, 2009 Share #11 Posted December 22, 2009 I use Giottos - it works fine on both cameras - worth the cost for glass I think.
MacSpikes Posted December 22, 2009 Share #12 Posted December 22, 2009 I use the ScreenPatronus bought on eBay. You will not notice it is there and stays rather clean and free of fingerprints.
d2mini Posted December 23, 2009 Share #13 Posted December 23, 2009 So I got my M9 yesterday and it came with a clear plastic film on the base of the camera but nothing protecting the screen. I was a bit surprised by that. Seems odd to me that the base plate of the camera was worth protecting but not the screen. I'm glad I have that Giottos being delivered today. d2mini Posted December 23, 2009 Share #18 Posted December 23, 2009 Just received my Giottos SP8250 and installed it. BRILLIANT! So worth the $25. Other than the tiny little logos on it you wouldn't even know something was there. I need to get one of these for my nikon and ditch that plastic thing that comes with it.
