MPerson Posted April 5, 2010 Share #182  Posted April 5, 2010 No contest for me. Apart from the several Digilux 2's I own, it's film all the way for me.  Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members!  As for the D2, it is more than enough for my "instant gratification" needs and I have yet to see a successor to match its simplicity and ease of use. colin_d Posted April 5, 2010 Share #183 Â Posted April 5, 2010 I have just found this forum and love the collegiate feeling among Leicas owners and in particular film users. Â Film 1 X M5 and 5 X lenses. (just acquired) 1 X Nikon F3 and 10 X lenses. (lovingly used and cared for, but about to be e-bayed) 1 X Pentax MZ-5n and 1 X lens. (about to become back up to M5) Â Dig 1 X Olympus U800 (for the cheese and kisses) Â Love film, the intrinsic feeling of creating something tangible not done by computer chips gives me self esteem. I shoot mostly transparency and enjoy getting out the big old heavy Kodak S-AV 2050 projector to look at my shots in full panavision, a great feeling. Â Film has an aura of mystic about it that kept a lot of people away. Digital is of course not only a technological progression, but mostly a profit making boon for the mass producing commercial giants. Â Film will never die, but only because we value quality rather than convenience in our life.

David,  Yes! For years I had the OM4 - just the best in-camera metering ever. The Zone system at the press of a button or two and under total user control. I am amazed that no one since has done the same.  Tim

Roberto Watson Posted April 8, 2010 Share #196  Posted April 8, 2010 Canon 5D , 5DMKII and 1Ds series can use R lenses with the proper adaptor.  Thanks Lazzaros goood to know.  Now I`ll be like gone for few days thinking in the posibilities of a leica lens in a canon body... Do Leica R lens keep infinitum focus while mounted in a Canon?  A macro camera/lens is the only thing that sometimes I miss while doing photography with my leicas M, I used to have a Nikkor on a FM body, but results never seem to look as good blown up. Lazzaros Posted April 8, 2010 Share #197 Â Posted April 8, 2010 Roberto, Canon bodies are great because you can use almost all kind of manual lenses without any problem. They reach the infinity focus and with a AF confirmation chip in the adaptor you can get the focus confirmation whan you half depress the shutter while focusing. Â The only problem is that with the FF bodies some lenses hit the mirror so you have to search on internet for which lenses you can't use. Some people shave the mirror to use all of them but I never tried that. Â For example, my Vario-Elmar 28-70 ROM hits the mirror so I can't use it. But I used to have more Leica-R lenses (and I'm looking for more now) and all worked good. Â Now I have more Contax Carl Zeiss lenses and they are amazing too. naosd Posted April 11, 2010 Share #200 Â Posted April 11, 2010 Glad to see you here, Ivo! Â I'm reaching a exclusively-film lifestyle. I use a 1988 Pentax SF7 with the adorable Pentax-F Zoom 28-80 3.5-4.5 lens. Recently I was given an Olympus OM10 with a 50mm f1.4 lens with it, but I haven't tried it yet. Â And the reason why I'm posting in this thread, my new camera: Â
