Advertisement Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 Hi 911turbojk, Take a look here Any M9 in stock in USA?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
tobey bilek Posted December 15, 2009 Share #2 Posted December 15, 2009 I read the first 9000 are sold by preorder. Production is set to achieve 9000 in March. So I guess you are out of luck unless you can find a used one. If you can`t find stock, it is probably true. This suprised the heck out of me. We will know if it is a flash in the pan or if orders will continue for years.

Not that I'm calling you out, but I'd just be interested to know. Thanks.
noah_addis Posted December 15, 2009 Share #4 Posted December 15, 2009 Jack, I may be wrong, but if you were to pre-order and pay in full before the end of the year wouldn't that count towards your 2009 taxes? I would not hesitate to do so from a reputable dealer. I'll put a plug in for David Farkas @ Dale photo...I'm not affiliated but just a happy customer. David got my two M9s relatively quickly, ordered a few weeks before 09/09. Just to be clear I did NOT prepay. But any dealer should be willing to let you pay in full in advance if you ask nicely:D

Outstanding, honest and very knowledgeable dealer... He is so cool that I don't mind lending him my M9 for his personal use while he goes on vacation next week. rsmphoto Posted December 15, 2009 Share #6 Posted December 15, 2009 Don't know if this will work for you, but Florham Village Camera in NJ was mentioned here in another thread as a good vendor, so I called on a whim and I had a black M9 in my hands in a week - literally. The owner, who I dealt with directly, could not have been a nicer guy.

photophile Posted December 16, 2009 Share #11 Posted December 16, 2009 I'll put in another word for Dave Farkas also - spent a delightful afternoon talking Leica. He is knowledgeable, passionate and a decent guy. My only regret is that I will be in Florida apparantly while he is on vacation....And I was hoping to play with an M9. Maybe Riccis...... Best. kidigital Posted December 16, 2009 Share #12 Posted December 16, 2009 Says a lot about David that he needs to borrow an M9 from one of his loyal customers as opposed to using one he could have easily set aside for himself ... another shout out for David from another one of his M9 customers. rapman1959 Posted December 17, 2009 Share #13 Posted December 17, 2009 I'm new on this forum and feel very lucky to have gotten my M9. I took my son to Vegas for his 21st birthday on Thanksgiving and called a local shop in Vegas. They had a gray M9 in stock and I took it. So I know this is a pain, but call dealers in various cities and ask if they have one in stock. A lot are not online. Google camera shops in the yellow pages from large and small cities. You may not get a good long term relationship but you might get an M9 before the end of the year. Adolfo

I would have thought they'd be doing rather better than that. JC
eddale Posted December 17, 2009 Share #16 Posted December 17, 2009 They are producing about 50 cameras a day - They are hand built - I was at Solms two weeks ago. Fascinating to see the process.
rcoles Posted December 17, 2009 Share #17 Posted December 17, 2009 I was a B&H prepaid customer from the first day they took orders. But, without a firm delivery date I still looked for another source. When Leica Rumors posted that the new Leica SIS in Palm Beach, FL had M9's (11/25) I called then and got on their list that day and they had a Black M9 for me on 12/2. I know I was very lucky, but since it is a Leica Store it might be worth a call. Phone: (561) 253-2606 and the website is http://www.proshopforphotographers.com.
