arthury Posted December 6, 2009 Share #1 Posted December 6, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) For those who already own the M9, you are less than happy with all the color cast on wide lenses, slow write speed to your SD card and other issues. We're almost 2010 and Leica is recommending using SD Ultra 2 because they are more stable??? The last time I used Ultra 2 for my kids' P+S was 3 years ago. For those who do not own the M9, you are dying to pay $7K and inherit these problems. I do not see an urgency for Leica to fix these reported issues until the waiting lists situation eases or disappear. If you truly want to get the attention of Leica, withdraw all of your names from the waiting lists as soon as you can, I can assure you that the reported problems will become a reality to them. As a for-profit entity, I do not blame them for not seeing beyond the sacrificial money that are offered and waiting for the product. The urgency for them now is to get your money into their coffers as fast as they can do it.

Mokkacream Posted December 6, 2009 Share #6 Posted December 6, 2009 What's the problem? What's your intention? There is a list of known issues, and I'm sure they will be fixed soon. In the meanwhilke, the M9 is already a superb camera, which provides me with a lot of fun and superb images.

charlesphoto99 Posted December 6, 2009 Share #8 Posted December 6, 2009 Dude, take a chill pill. It's just a camera. Love it or leave it. Leica isn't exactly Exxon or Pfizer or Goldman Sachs. Save the vitriol for the real demons out there.
Nicoleica Posted December 6, 2009 Share #9 Posted December 6, 2009 Golly Arthury. Is it raining in Seattle today or something? I've just seen some of your other posts from today, and you seem seriously upset. As the post above suggests, please relax a little. Life is way to short for all of that stress. Peace! earleygallery Posted December 6, 2009 Share #12 Posted December 6, 2009 To the OP better still, cover yourself in treacle, roll in feathers then chain yourself to the gates at the Leica factory. When Dr Kauffman arrives for work you can scream "WATCH THE BIRDIE" repeatedly at him. Might get his attention anyway.

thrice Posted December 6, 2009 Share #15 Posted December 6, 2009 Only thing that bothers me is the camera hanging if I turn it off while it's trying to make a 32s exposure cos I left the lens cap on Leica isn't an amoral money-fixated company, all their profits go back into R&D, I would have thought you knew that. The firmware fixes will come, patience is a virtue.

glenerrolrd Posted December 7, 2009 Share #18 Posted December 7, 2009 The best way to get Leica s attention on issues like this is to post about them. People read these posts ..both positive and negative points of view. Your question was how to get Leica s attention. You need to be very specific about the issue and how it affects your photography. The problems you noted are well known to this forum and are covered in several reviews. They are real problems and have been well documented . If you visit Digilloyd s website you will find a very complete assessment of the color shift with certain wide angles. IMHO they represent defects in the design/manufacturing of what is otherwise a unique and exceptional camera. People read these posts and make buying decisions based on what they read. They have far more impact than a phone or a letter to the company. That might work if you are asking about your specific camera but its a waste of time on problems that have been traced back to the design or the factory itself. Two common responses on this forum to any negative post about Leica: 1. I have no problems with my M9 and its great . ( Doesn t matter that I don t use the wide angle lenses that exhibit the color shift or the SDHC cards that have problems. ) 2. There is something definitely wrong with you personally. You need to get control of yourself man . Generally most people don t appreciate these comments ..was it your intention to be insulting. Seems like it . The implication is that the POV expressed by the originator are either gross exaggerations or flat out in correct. Doesn t matter what the facts are. I guess the new version of Cornerfix to correct the color shift isn t proof enough. Neither of these problems is significant enough for my work to keep me from the M9. The M9 is the best camera I have ever owned and I now have two of them . I will avoid specific wide angles and certain sd cards and use the established post processing work arounds. It would be useful if Leica owned up that the issues exist and at some point addressed them. Thats has not been there approach..they listen but they don t discuss their intentions. We will just have to wait and see. If the issues resonate with enough people you will have their attention..if not maybe its not a big deal. Seems like a constructive use of the forum. Pointcolville Posted December 7, 2009 Share #19 Posted December 7, 2009 Erm. . . we seem to have a wave of irrationality sweeping through Seattle, with sometimes tragic results. My M9 doing everything that it was built to do and I'm quite happy with it. You might find that the psychologist will reach a correct diagnosis faster if you leave on your tin foil hat throughout your visit.

Not an epidemic in Seattle. or endemic to Seattle (based on the continual "complaint" posts). Maybe Arthury just wants a shorter waiting list, so his position will improve.
