M9 Lightroom or CaptureOne

I don't think anybody but a professional really needs the pro version, Doug, and that would be for the batch processing. But it has quite a number of nice extras, like for instance the defringing tool and corrections per colour channel. I have been using the demo for a few weeks now and am seriously thinking of buying a license. At any rate, in general the results of C1 have, over the years, been stellar with the M8 and are clearly set to go the same way with the M9, pro or lite.

Thanks, that's kind of what I thought. I've loaded the LR-3 beta and am experimenting with it now. Next is the C1 trial version.

Cheers

My experience is that C1 has a better image quality (sharpness, detail, color) concerning the final output. LR has by far more options in things you can apply. But I don´t need that. I compared them 2 years ago to set up my workflow, so maybe things have changed with the new versions. But I feel very comfortable with C1 Pro...

Sorry that it took a while before I returned to this thread, but I had to cope with some computer issues (corrupt disk). This is just one of the situations I have some reservations about the way Lightroom creates its collections. Further the longer I''m using lightroom or capture one pro, the more I'm inclined to buy a license for CaptureOne pro. There are just to many situations where CaptureOne gives a better image then lightroom.
