Seeingeye Posted December 26, 2009 Share #21 Posted December 26, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Are there any arrangements for meeting up and a start time? Although the market opens at 9:00 am, that is probably too early for most I expect. Especially as Southern, no doubt in common with other railway companies, despite running a Saturday service that day is not allowing off peak travel until after 9:30. Advertisement Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 Hi Seeingeye, Take a look here London New years eve. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
farnz Posted December 26, 2009 Share #22 Posted December 26, 2009 IMike, I agree that 9.00 is a tad early because there are those who are coming from further afield. It is not beyond the realms of possibility that there may be moist stuff descending from above and it seems like a good idea to meet under cover so we can make a leisurely start to give any stragglers an even chance of catching us before we disappear untraceably into the catacombs of Borough Market. I suggest that we meet for coffee at Cafe Rossi, which is just across Borough High Street from the market. It's a smallish cafe but they offer a passable breakfast in cases of emergency. Does anyone have any objection to meeting in Cafe Rossi at 11.00 am - assuming that it'll be open - with a viewing to setting off by 11.30? (If it's not open, we can either stand around stamping our feet and muttering or choose a new cafe and leave a Da Vinci-style coded message on the wall by Cafe Rossi.) Pete. Seeingeye Posted December 26, 2009 Share #23 Posted December 26, 2009 Hi Pete That works for me. Now that I have a clearer idea of my plans, I expect to be there, together with my new toy. Regards Mike

Seeingeye Posted December 26, 2009 Share #25 Posted December 26, 2009 Oops, perhaps my previous post should have been in the Hornby forum. Regards Mike
biglouis Posted December 27, 2009 Share #26 Posted December 27, 2009 Looking back through the posts I did not actually make clear where it is we should assemble for the meet-up. Farnz has come up with the suggestion of the Cafe Rossi at 11:00, which seems fine to me, so unless there are any objections that seems the best plan. MPerson Posted December 27, 2009 Share #27 Posted December 27, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I might not make this as I have managed to hook up with an indie film crew as part of my Double-X project and am spending the next month or so with them learning how they shoot and light for Double-X. I won't get the location and shoot schedule until Tuesday but will strive to get there as we shouldn't be too far away.
earleygallery Posted December 27, 2009 Share #28 Posted December 27, 2009 As it stands I'm still OK for the meet, but I have got a nasty cough so apologies in advance for that!
viramati Posted December 28, 2009 Author Share #29 Posted December 28, 2009 might not be able to get there until 11.30. hope that is ok
farnz Posted December 28, 2009 Share #30 Posted December 28, 2009 No problem, David. If we've set off by then you'll find us giving some unsuspecting trader his 15 seconds of fame in the market. Pete.

If by some miracle I feel good in the morning I'll be there, but........ I really wanted to get out with the lllf too
farnz Posted December 29, 2009 Share #33 Posted December 29, 2009 Sorry to hear that you're feeling unwell, James. If it's any consolation there's likely to be ample opportunity for self-administered, liquid, local-anaesthetic. I hope you feel up to making it! Pete. viramati Posted December 30, 2009 Author Share #34 Posted December 30, 2009 Got home OK. Sorry to leave early but my back really was killing me. Happy new year to you all
MPerson Posted December 30, 2009 Share #35 Posted December 30, 2009 Sorry I couldn't get there but as I explained to Louis the weather had put the shoot on hold. We were only in Brixton - Electric Avenue - and a short hop to Borough Market but we waited and waited to see if the weather eased up! The Director of Photography uses an M6 so we swapped for the day and passed the time!
biglouis Posted December 30, 2009 Share #36 Posted December 30, 2009 Got home OK. Sorry to leave early but my back really was killing me.Happy new year to you all David, take a look in the people section: you will be amused (I hope). Hope the back clears up. farnz Posted December 30, 2009 Share #37 Posted December 30, 2009 Time to come clean, Louis, you were obviously trying to snap the two attractive ladies behind us and we happened to get in the way! As always it was a very pleasant day although the weather curtailed the photography but it was as ever rewarding to remake acquaintances and share a little post-Christmas spirit. Or two. Many thanks to Alan, Louis, Mike and David for trotting along but special thanks to Falstaff and Robert Parker for travelling so far to be there. Pete. ejd Posted December 30, 2009 Share #38 Posted December 30, 2009 Sorry not to have been able to make it today. It looks as though a good time was had by all. Next time! Best wishes for the New Year. John
gravastar Posted December 30, 2009 Share #39 Posted December 30, 2009 I really have to apologise to everyone. For some stupid reason I thought the outing was tomorrow - New Year's Eve - and only discovered my mistake after people had started to post about today . And there was me in an earlier posting saying today was OK - sigh. Maybe next time ..................... Bob.
MPerson Posted December 30, 2009 Share #40 Posted December 30, 2009 Andy, no problema: will you have some pictures to share at some point? Louis - yes but not until the film is completed/released circa 2011. For obvious reasons I had to sign the equivalent of a non-dislosure agreement as part of my being attached to the crew.
